Dubbed the Historic Districts "Show Stopper," Barterhouse Ybor, offers inventive American cuisine like a twist on Ybor's own Deviled Crab Chilua, house made pastas and prime beef & chops. The bar is equally dedicated to premium ingredients crafting cocktails in this elevated-yet-cozy environment. Highly acclaimed Executive Chef Estabon Chacon leads the experience from the stunning open chef’s kitchen.

The Southeast farm community is the heart of Barterhouse, following our sister restaurant in Charleston SC. Our philosophy surrounds the idea that not all ingredients are created equal, and if we eat good, we’re doing good, too. Don't miss this "show stopper" in Tampa's most historic district.

We encourage you to lounge at our speakeasy-inspired bar, stocked with local brews, fine wine by the glass and classic 1940’s libations with a modern twist. Walk ins welcome, and bar menus begin at 4:30 pm.

After seeing the posts of the Christmas pop up on Instagram, we had high hopes. We looked online and the menu was exciting….so we booked Saturday at 8pm. We arrived on time, but they were swamped…..so we took a seat at the bar. We ordered drinks from the holiday menu. The bartender made our drinks, but they didn’t look like the others. The bartender mentioned that they were low on the special holiday glasses. We told him we would wait so we could have the drinks as they were meant. Their holiday old fashioned was really good! Once we were seated, it took a while to get menus. We came out to try the short rib and the crab dumpling….both items were not available. We ended up ordering the smash burger as a main, and the Doritos with beef cheeks and focaccia as an appetizer. The appetizers came out with the food, which was a bit disappointing. It all took about an hour. The burger was great! 2nd best burger I’ve had in Tampa (second to bouillon). The Doritos beef cheeks lacked beef. We found only one clump of beef….so it was more so an expensive order of Doritos with sour cream. The focaccia was a little dry and had too much truffle flavor for our liking. We asked for butter, but they did not offer butter for the bread. Overall, the service was lacking. Maybe this menu is new and they have been busy with the new holiday decor? It was a miss for us this particular night. Maybe we will give it another try in a few weeks.

Great ambience!! Loved the food and decorations. Drinks and food took a while but overall it was awesome. Definitely will be back

Jim was amazing !!! The fact that he took the time to explain every single detail behind the plates was absolutely amazing! We celebrated my bestie birthday and they created the desert just for her because they don't usually have the complementary birthday dessert like other restaurants ! We had a great time can't wait to go back

Barterhouse has leveled up. We have been many many times but were blown away but this most recent experience. I smell a Michelin star in the future.

Kudos to the new chef and also the pastry chef! You really put love into that menu. Every bite was had was so incredible we are actually discussing it over brunch. Haha It was a true food and flavor adventure. Superb service and friendly service. We can’t wait to go back!

The staff is very attentive, the food was surprisingly delicious. Compliments to the chef on the dessert. It was quite literally the best dessert I’ve ever had.

One of my favorite meals anywhere in Tampa. We tried nearly everything and were very impressed: the highlights were the foie gras crème brûlée, black truffle puff, octopus, crudo and among all those gourmet offerings in the best cheeseburger anywhere. I’ve dined at all the Michelin star restaurants in Tampa and Barterhouse can really compete with even show them a thing or two!

This restaurant had been on my list of tries. When I heard they were doing Christmas in July, I said why not. It is a must try. The Christmas decoration's and Christmas inspired drinks were amazing. I would DEFINITELY go back again.
