Barrio Queen is the best restaurant in Phoenix for authentic Mexican food and craft cocktails. Our food pays homage to history and culture by serving fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine using traditional recipes from barrios throughout Mexico. Dinner took more than 3 hours and came out cold. Wait staff was trying very hard but restaurant seems short staffed and/or poorly run. Won’t return

The black mole sauce was extremely sweet, making it difficult to finish. The chicken in the fiesta bowl was very dry.

Barrio Queen is a real value with a great happy hour menu! My favorite is the guacamole made at your table with pomegranate! Delicious! The two tacos for $5 is a real bargain and my special treat is the Elotes corn side dish!

Very busy, service was very slow. It took a long time just to get water. The biggest let down was the $15 guacamole. They used 1/2 an avocado and it wasn’t even fully ripe and mashed! Burritos were not very big and had a very spicy aftertaste.

Our waiter was beyond horrible. He seemed irritated to do his job. My daughter & her boyfriend got waters and they both had to refills. He groaned several times like when I asked him refills on chips & salsa and my Arnold Palmer. He was grumpy, impolite and completely rude. We order sides of rice to which he ignored all together. The food was amazing. Hats off to chef and kitchen staff.
