Join us Thursday, September 19th from 5-7PM for a special tasting with our friends from Xicaru! Chris Hampson, the Owner/Founder of Xicaru is coming out from California and we'll be pouring all six expressions from Xicaru: Silver, Reposado, Anejo, 102 Proof, Tobala (not currently on our back bar), as well as the Pechuga Mole. Jamie Dodge will be away, but we will have a very special guest, Señor Pat Pipi running the event with Chris. And of course, you know we'll have bottles for purchase!

We were a table of 5 on a fairly busy Friday night. Had a reservation so no wait. The waitress explained that the food would come out as it was prepared, indicating the entrees would not all come out at the same time. Three people received their food fairly promptly, the forth after another 45 minutes and the last never received her order at all., despite our server going repeatedly back to the kitchen to ask for it. We ordered another round of drinks, and finally decided to leave when it became clear the last order was not forthcoming. The Manager came over to apologize, and offered to substitute some tacos that were ready, but at this point all of us had finished and were ready to leave. She said they would remove the meal not served from out tab, and that is exactly what they did. More or less had expected them to comp us the second round of drinks ordered because we were waiting so long for food that never was served, but that did not happen. No one raved about their food. None of us ever want to go back to Barrio Costero.

Great food, nice ambiance, second time dining here and the food was delish! Nachos are a must! Hibiscus margs were so good and refreshing! A 10 out of 10!

We had an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food portions were the largest we have ever encountered, ensuring that we left fully satisfied. The service was top-notch, with the staff being incredibly attentive to our needs. As someone with celiac disease, it can be challenging to find restaurants that take dietary restrictions seriously, but everyone went above and beyond. They carefully catered to our gluten-free requirements, making sure that every dish was prepared safely. Overall, we highly recommend Barrio Costero for anyone looking for delicious food and outstanding service, especially if you have specific dietary needs.

The food was excellent. We tried 5 different dishes to share. Each one was flavorful and tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only drawback is we found it to be very noisy and hard to hear. We would definitely go back.

Amazing meal. Don’t skip this place. Probably the best Mexican cuisine I’ve had. Will return anytime back in Asbury.

The menu is not what it used to be. Not only was it a very small selection, but the kitchen was out of half the things on the menu. Everything was very sweet and tasted like cinnamon. It’s a shame because it used to be a great spot. Probably won’t be returning.

The food was terrible…the chorizo was dry… masa for tamale was gummy but service was GREAT.

Excellent service. Friendly staff. Love the open kitchen concept and the food is freshly made. Portions were small for the price but delicious!
