                Once again Barrett’s on the Pike doesn’t disappoint! We brought some family from North Carolina today to enjoy lunch. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated and our waiter, Matt, took our drink orders. My husband ordered the Ahi Tuna from the Restaurant Week menu and I ordered the Cubano sandwich. We both enjoyed them very much. Our son ordered his favorite Blackened Pasta with chicken. My cousins ordered Chicken and Waffles, a house Salad and Salmon dinner, and fish tacos. The were all served by the friendly staff and we were able to eat them while having time to catch up since our last visit. I can truly recommend this restaurant! I would hope that they would keep the Cubano on the menu!

                I've always liked this restaurant and hope we just caught it on an off night. For a Sunday evening (after the football game) it was pretty empty, the first surprise. The server was great, no complaints there, but... the cocktails were very expensive, and miniscule. It was restaurant week and my friend chose from that menu. The crab corn soup was wonderful, but it was downhill from there. I chose the large kale salad with grilled salmon, which I have had before, Yes, there was kale and salmon, and a few walnuts, but the "roasted cauliflower" was pure white, raw, and icy cold, definitely not roasted. The rest of the salad was just kind of thrown on the plate, with no presentation, Two thirds of the kale was on one side of the plate and everything else was just kind of tossed on. Really a huge disappointment. The flourless chocolate cake was good though, and even though a very small slice, it was rich enough that we could split it along with the scoop of vanilla ice cream. All in all an average dining experience not up to the standards of Barrett's

                Food is always good. Husband said bread pudding could use a little more sauce. We love Shrmp Cargot and both enjoyed it last evening. Seated in the bar - it was relatively quiet- we like that!

                The food was excellent but took a very long time to arrive. In the form that I had submitted to get a reservation, there was a section for special requests. I indicated that I wanted a piece of cake with a candle at the end to celebrate my wife's birthday. That never happened even after I prompted the waiter to go read the special instructions. Not a good place for a special occasion when they don't do their part.

                The food and service were great. The Berries Napoleon dessert is the best dessert available at any restaurant we have ever eaten at.

                Food was great. However, the service was not good. It took an hour to get our food meanwhile other tables that were seated when we arrived got their food first. As it turns out, our order was never put in by the waiter. I also did not have a drink while eating, the waiter did not check in with us or refill our water glasses and we had to ask for bread because we were extremely hungry at that point. When this was brought to their attention, we were apologized to and we had all drinks comped. So they did make up for it. I just feel that we should not have had to bring to their attention that we hadn’t gotten our food after an hour of waiting. It was a Friday night, somewhat busy so we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. All I can hope is that they learned from it!

                We started our meal with the corn & crab soup which is always a winner. My friend had the fish of the day on a roll with spinach and I had the French Dip with FF both were delicious. He boxed up the remainder of our meals so we could end it with the raspberry sorbet which was flavorful & creamy. Our waiter was friendly and attentive without being intrusive.

                Barrett's on the Pike in Fallston has been consistent in food quality and food taste Friendly servers and bartenders, we frequent it on Sunday mornings and more so during the week, mostly at the bar. Also had a community women's luncheon in the past which was handled wonderfully. Can't say enough about it. Barrett's feels very comfortable and like 'home'. Decor is bright and open, much appreciated when compared to darker, more contained rooms in other restaurants.
