Bardea, pronounced: bar-DAY-ah, is the Italian term for "the goddess of food and drink." The stunning, 120-seat restaurant utilizes ingredients from local Delaware Valley farms and purveyors, and features modern interpretations of traditional Italian and Mediterranean dishes. In 2019, Bardea Food & Drink received a semifinalist nomination in the James Beard Foundation's "Best New Restaurant" category.

    Food was just ok. Calamari was super chewy, I assume overcooked. Bite size ravioli was boring, all you could taste was Gorgonzola. Crab tacos did not taste like crab. Pepperoni pizza was nothing special. Way overpriced for what you got. Get ready to pay $25 (plus tip) for valet parking because there’s no parking anywhere. Won’t be going back.

    Delicious as always. Loved the avocado, the bao buns, the barbacoa, the cauliflower and the dessert. Can’t get enough of Bardea.

    We celebrated our anniversary here last night. The restaurant kindly gave us a nice champagne toast to celebrate the occasion. The decor of the restaurant is lovely. However, the volume of the music was so loud that it was not easy to have a conversation. We needed to raise our voices throughout the whole meal as if we were in a club. Our waiter told us that other people complain about the music volume, but there’s a reason for the loud music. He explained the rationale behind it, but I honestly couldn’t hear the explanation. It was not a good environment for a dinner. The food was overall good, but the dishes were inconsistent. The good ones were delicious. However, the red snapper tasted very fishy and did not taste fresh. The eggplant parmesan was served cold. We had heard rave reviews about this restaurant, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the hype.

    The king salmon is one of the best dishes I have ever eaten! The Burrata pop tart is also amazing. Will be going back soon for both

    After multiple visits, I will not return. I hate how close the tables are to each other, the noise levels are too loud, the food portions are way too small and finally when a customer says the soft drinks are lacking carbonation and nothing is done about it, well it makes me sad as a customer that something so simple to fix seems like it was an afterthought to consumers who don’t drink.

    Still the best restaurant in Wilmington. Food is always excellent and somehow, even with turnover, they keep the service top notch and excellent. Kudos to the Bardea team!

    Innovative cuisine, great service. It would be noisy enough without the thumping house music. We will go back but maybe not on a Saturday.

    One of our favorite places. The calamari is so unique and a wonderful taste. It’s ruined all others for us. The bartenders make an awesome amaretto sour too!
