This is Greece.

Bar Vlaha tells the story of the Vlach people, the founders of hospitality and Greek cooking. A nomadic group of shepherds who created and nurtured the roots of Hellenic cooking as we know it. Straying from the tried-and-true island cuisine, we're rediscovering Greek fare sourced from rural mountains, lakes and villages of Central and Northern Greece.

Bar Vlaha captures the true soul of Greek cooking with rustic and nomadic traditions using charcoal and open fire gastra techniques. Locally sourced, regional and seasonal ingredients are combined with the warmth of old-world hospitality to bring the roots of Greek culture to Brookline.

Went here with a large group for a birthday and the food was wonderful as always! Chris, our server, was absolutely fantastic and really went the extra mile to make the night incredibly special.

Appetizers and side dishes were excellent. The entrees were less interesting. The atmosphere was very nice, comfortable distance between tables, acceptable noise level. The server used condescending language "Is this our first time here?"

Great place! Delicious food, wonderful service, nice staff. Highly recommend the hilopites, loukanikopita, and the coffee. Will be back for dessert and drinks!

Bar Vlaha is a hit!! I frequent Krasi often and could not wait to get out to try Bar Vlaha and it did not disappoint. This was for a monthly gentlemen's dinner outing for 5 people so we got to try an array of their small plates. The ambience was perfect for a midweek outing. The service was phenomenal and had great recommendations. The food was perfection all around. Crispy fried oyster mushrooms, boar ragu, lamb shoulder, eel bruschetta were all FIRE!!! Cannot wait to go back next week with my wife and try more goodies.

Makes sense why they were ranked #1 in Boston. A truly authentic Greek restaurant focusing on the Vlach people of Central Greece. Staff engaging, informative and very hospitable. Top notch food and service!!! My favorite place in Boston!

As always we had a fantastic time at Bar Vlaha! The space is so inviting and warm. The place settings are rustic and interesting (my guest from Europe was delighted). The staff is always on point and so welcoming. Rose was lovely and the whole team works like a well oiled machine. The food is always delicious!!! I miss the taramasalata and fried mushrooms on the brunch menu but what we did have was yummy! Thank you for always taking such good care of us and our guests.
