This is Greece.

Bar Vlaha tells the story of the Vlach people, the founders of hospitality and Greek cooking. A nomadic group of shepherds who created and nurtured the roots of Hellenic cooking as we know it. Straying from the tried-and-true island cuisine, we're rediscovering Greek fare sourced from rural mountains, lakes and villages of Central and Northern Greece.

Bar Vlaha captures the true soul of Greek cooking with rustic and nomadic traditions using charcoal and open fire gastra techniques. Locally sourced, regional and seasonal ingredients are combined with the warmth of old-world hospitality to bring the roots of Greek culture to Brookline.

    Great food, outstanding service and fun atmosphere. We dined for Sunday brunch and everyone in our party loved the food which is served family style. The wait staff was attentive and informative. We will definitely be back.

    We found this place on a trip to Boston and it was well worth it. Easy T-ride from downtown. The food was fabulous. Great bread and spreads. The lamb pie and ribs were fantastic as were the stuffed grape leaves.

    As always it’s a wonderful time to dine in and experience the spectacular food and service at Bar Vlaha. Maria is truly remarkable and such a genuine person as well. Made such great recommendations to the table. Sitting so close to the kitchen, it was admirable to see all the hard work that goes into making Bar Vlaha such a fantastic dining experience. Always will be one of my favorite restaurants. Thank you!

    what an amazing dinner! we were warmly welcomed by a very friendly host, followed by exceptional service from Jorge, who was incredibly understanding. it was our first time there and celebrating our anniversary, and we had our 9-month-old with us. Jorge timed everything perfectly, knowing our time out was limited with the baby. as expected from the Xenia group, the food was outstanding!
