Rocco and the team at Bar Rosella delivered a flawless experience, as always. One of Melbourne’s best regional Italian restaurants, leveraging Rocco’s direct knowledge of Puglia and Pugliese cuisine. Buonissimo.

We loved Eric and the rest of the friendly attentive team at Rosella. The food was incredible! Can’t wait to go back.

Had the best time. My friend reckoned this for a birthday dinner for my 38th and it was perfect for our group of 8 we could laugh talk and hear eachother service was fabulous and food incredible.

Very expensive for amount and quality of food we selected, way way too much salt on two dishes, we didn’t receive a bill had to go to counter to settle up, no view of bill still just a total, we got home and we believe we we’re overcharged $29 unless water from the tap costs that much

We had a terrible experience here sadly. They left us waiting 40 mins before coming to ask us for drinks and they weren’t even busy. The staff were both just standing talking to one another and one customer at the bar. When we did order drinks they took forever to come and tasted terrible. The waiter didn’t know the menu and couldn’t explain dishes - he said ‘don’t ask me I’m new so take your chances’. All in all I would never go back again.

Our table of 4 had a very good time at Rosella last night, really enjoying the innovative and well prepared & beautifully plated dishes from the well devised a la carte menu. The antipasti section had a number of tempting choices but we all had the wild king fish crudo , fried capers , orange & a Japanese herb which were delicious, followed by porchetta croquettes with nduja mayo were delicious, equally tasty. The Puglian styled focaccia went down a treat with the oil from the crudo. We all chose different mains, including 2 from the specials list ( beef cheeks and the crunchy ink squid risotto with prawns) plus gnocchi and the Bombette Pugliesi from the Secondi section, to which we added the twice cooked potatoes and the rocket, pears, candied walnuts & truffle honey from the Contorni list. It was all very good with excellent service from our knowledgeable waitor who assisted with choice of both white wine and a Victorian red made from Italian grapes which really enhanced the food. We finished the meal with another special, mascarpone tarte topped with pistachio which tasted as beautiful as it looked. We had been wanting to try Rosella after eating quite often at Rocco's previous restaurant and deli, Project 49 and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended for not only the food and wine but also the friendly helpful service and the cosy ambience.
