The neighbourhood Italian restaurant you’ve always dreamed of, Bar Prima features a luxurious atmosphere that evokes a sense of timelessness and nostalgia. The restaurant design captures an old-school charm with dimly lit ambiance, creating an elevated and elegant atmosphere. From Italian disco inspired music to vintage design touches, Chefs Craig Harding and Julian D’Ippolito have curated a space that feels as though it’s been there forever.

Bar Prima can at times feel opulent with its banquets and table lamps but can also feel relaxed and romantic. We seek to share our passion for food, beverage and hospitality, creativity and design with our open-minded guests!

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Avec son plafond voûté en feuilles d'or, ses accents bleu royal et son sol incrusté de marbre, le Bar Prima est un coup de cœur dès que vous franchissez la porte.     Valentine's Day approaches, and we'd be delighted to host you at Bar Prima! We'll be running a fabulous 6-course Set Menu for all parties throughout the night, specially curated by Head Chef Nick and the Bar Prima team, with options to add on a wine pairing chosen by Head Sommelier Kaylee Clement on the night, as well as our full array of cocktails and treats. We aim to create an intimate but vibrant atmosphere across both floors of our beautiful restaurant, perfect for those celebrating Valentine's, Galentine's or just a superb Friday night dinner! The Set Menu is $165/pp and will be GST-free. We can cater for most (but not all) dietaries and allergies; please contact us prior to booking if you or your guests have special requirements.

    Amazing food and wonderful service! Our server was so knowledgeable and gave us a great run down of the menu. I think this was maybe the best lamb we’ve ever had! And the funghetti di mare was incredible as well - I’ve never had mushroom shaped pasta and the seafood was all cooked to perfection! Dessert was also a knock-out, highly recommend the tartufo! Overall a 10/10 experience and will definitely be back :)

    Loved the scallops! Wish we had two servings! The bread was fluffy! Ordered the lobster pasta (everyone’s talking about it in Tiktok). But it was underwhelming. The pasta was stuck together and was quite bland. Lobster was perfectly cooked. The Menu was in Italian so we asked the server to explain what each dish contained. It would be nice if the server can explain what each dish is or if the menu had a brief description under the name of each dish. Ambience is incredible.

    This is our favourite restaurant for a reason! Everyone needs to try it at least once. Everything on the menu that we have had the past few times we have been there has been amazing and have never been disappointed. The Agnolotti Doppio is the best pasta we have ever had and is the perfect combination of fresh and rich. We love it and will absolutely be coming back to Bar Prima.

    Really really good service, the servers all know a lot about the menu and they have good recommendations! The food is also easily shareable, which makes it good to take someone here!

    I had an amazing experience last night at Bar Prima. I've been dying to go for the longest time, and it did not disappoint. Jarred took great care of us. In fact, the whole staff was super nice and very attentive. Iain runs a tight ship. The food was well executed, tasted amazing, and looked super sexy. The wine I had was a great find, but now I can't remember the grape. Of course, the decor and ambience is fire. It is perfectly lit and nicely spaced out compared to most cramped places today. We felt well taken care of and I can't wait to go back and my 2nd choices. Oh, and the agnolotti is a MUST. Thanks to everyone for a great night.
