The neighbourhood Italian restaurant you’ve always dreamed of, Bar Prima will feature a luxurious atmosphere that evokes a sense of timelessness and nostalgia. The restaurant design will capture an old-school charm with dimly lit ambiance, creating an elevated and elegant atmosphere. From Italian disco inspired music to vintage design touches, Chefs Craig Harding and Julian D’Ippolito have curated a space that feels as though it’s been there forever.

Bar Prima can at times feel opulent with its banquets and table lamps but can also feel relaxed and romantic. We seek to share our passion for food, beverage and hospitality, creativity and design with our open-minded guests!

We absolutely loved our food choices and quality and presentation. The tastes were undeniably fresh and different and memorable. Our Server was by far the most professional, knowledgeable and accommodating than any server in all our years (which is many) Her input and enthusiasm made the evening beyond memorable, it made it perfect. Shoutout to Pao.

We were aggressively kicked out of the restaurant in the middle of dinner. The waiter took our plate and said “you’re done” before we had finished half the dish. The staff was unfriendly and told us to leave after we were politely ordering multiple dishes. They told us they wouldn’t serve us dessert given the time but we had only been there for 2 hours. There were multiple empty tables and no line to get into the restaurant. For an expensive restaurant, the service was completely unacceptable.

Love the atmosphere in the dinning room downstairs. Music was excellent and ambience was very quaint, the food and service was excellent!

We had a group get together and dinner was fantastic. The Scallops Rockefeller were delicious and the Veal Marsala was perfectly cooked and delectable to eat. The service was excellent and the drinks well mixed. All of us would love to come back.

I recently visited Bar Prima with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday, and I must say, this place is absolutely IMMACULATE. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the delightful and friendly hosts. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between semi-luxurious, romantic and warm. We were seated immediately, and our wonderful waiter promptly attended to us, guiding us through the cocktail and menu selections. His exceptional recommendations led us to order the Beef Tartare, Scallop Rockefeller, Lobster Fra Diavolo, Swordfish Piccata, Potato Pave, and Tiramisu. Each dish was impeccably prepared, earning a perfect 10/10. The Scallop Rockefeller had an ideal blend of creaminess and citrus, while the bone marrow in the Beef Tartare elevated the dish to new heights. The Lobster Fra Diavolo and Swordfish Piccata were the stars of the evening. The Lobster Fra Diavolo was generously portioned with lobster and had a delightful hint of spice, thanks to Chef Nick's exceptional touch. The Swordfish Piccata was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a heavenly, light creamy sauce. The Tiramisu was also a standout, providing a soothing and satisfying end to the meal. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Bar Prima for anyone seeking incredible food, a romantic ambiance, and a memorable date night.

Great experience. Food was fantastic. Ambience was elegant but not at all stuffy. Service was excellent. Cool crowd of all ages.

Overhyped food. We all became ill after eating beef tartar. The service at first appears friendly but that ends quickly if you are not happy with something. Then the waiter gets an attitude. Honestly a typical overhyped new Toronto restaurant.

For once, a restaurant that lives up to the hype. The food was exquisite. The service informative, friendly and unstuffy. The decor attractive but not overbearing. My only tiny complaint was the salt level of the butter. As a person used to unsalted butter, it was a bit of a shock to bite into my delicious roll and taste how salty the butter was. Otherwise, a lovely evening. They had set aside 2 hours for us and we never felt rushed. Highly recommended.
