Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks and a great burger. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12. Any night of the week, Bar Mezzana welcomes with a thoughtful wine list, delightful cocktails, delicious food and friendly staff!

Poderi Aldo Conterno, a prestigious name in the world of Barolo, belongs to an elite group of historical producers who have shaped the legacy of winemaking in the Langhe region. The event starts at 6pm with a Champagne & Antipasti reception followed by a five-course dinner with six wine pairings. Highlights include Tuna Crudo paired with a highly allocated Chardonnay, Tagliatelle with Truffle, & Braised Beef Cheek paired with a side-by-side of two Barolos. $195/person (exclusive of 4% kitchen admin fee, 7% tax, 20% gratuity). Available from Thursday, 24th through Sunday, 27th. This special menu will be available in the dining room, bar and lounge alongside our full dinner menu. $75 per person, with a suggested wine pairing. We ask that your full party participate.     Food was really good excellent. It’s a boisterous atmosphere so not a place for a romantic dinner, but we’ll definitely be back.

    Average overall. Nice ambiance, mixed food, good service. Appetizers were good but focaccia was disappointing — dry and flavorless. Pastas were mixed. Of the two we tried, one was good, the other truly terrible. This restaurant is not worth driving across town for, but if you live close by, you could go there for drinks and apps without feeling letdown.

    Good food and nice ambience. My biggest complaint is that 2/3 of our order didn’t get put in and it didn’t get corrected until we were done with one of our main courses so it ended up being 45 min+ after ordering before we got our food. I’m not sure how they thought we were only ordering one main between the two of us, esp after we ordered a $60 bottle of wine. The did bring us two free glasses of wine to make up for it. We ordered the jonah crab tagliolini, the gnocchi alla vodka, and some bread. I liked the tagliolini overall but I think it could’ve done without the sourness from the picked jalapeños. The gnocchi was the better of the two dishes imo but the portion was small and not very filling.

    We love this restaurant, but tonite was not up to par. Food was good, not great. One meal was lukewarm. We will be back, but hope tonite is not indicative of a downward trend.
