Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks and a great burger. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12.     Explore the flavors of Italy at our monthly Wine Cellar Series! Join us later this month as we travel to Tuscany! Indulge in a four-course tasting menu inspired by the rich, rustic flavors of Tuscany, crafted by Chef de Cuisine Eliza and her talented team; with optional wine pairings chosen by Beverage Director Ryan Lotz. Available from October Thursday, 24th through Sunday, 27th. This special menu will be available in the dining room, bar and lounge alongside our full dinner menu. $75 per person, with a suggested wine pairing for $45. We ask that your full party participate.     We love this restaurant, but tonite was not up to par. Food was good, not great. One meal was lukewarm. We will be back, but hope tonite is not indicative of a downward trend.

    Food was great but the service from the host, to bidders and food runners, to our server was spectacular. Beautiful restaurant as well.

    Well visited italian restaurant on the Harrison corner . On a busy Friday night we were seated outside with an interesting view of the eclectic crowd. Our server was prompt and busy but quite capable. We started with the arancini and corn which was tasty. The salt cod croquettes were more like fish and chips. The focaccia with the eggplant dip was flavorful. I came for the lobster paccheri but that was disappointing. The pasta was too al dente and difficult to eat. There was hardly any sauce and it was very under seasoned. There was plenty of lobster which was slightly undercooked like the pasta. The crab tagliolini had a nice lemon flavor on the other hand.

    Great food and gracious service. Pricey enough that I cannot make this my neighborhood go to restaurant.

    Bar Mezzana never disappoints. Chef Eliza and her incredible team, under the leadership of Chef Colin Lynch, do an amazing job with both their food and the ambiance of their restaurant. There is nothing in the North End that compares to the taste and quality of the Italian dishes expertly prepared here. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants an authentic Italian meal and experience.

    Every course was exceptional with interesting vibrant flavor profiles. It would be hard to beat this dining experience in Boston!

    I had the biter swan for my drink which has gin, bitters, peach, raspberry, & lime in it. It was really good! I also had the lobster paccheri with deshelled one and a quarter pound lobster, lobster crema, green onion, & tomato in it. The dish was fantastic! The lobster was tender and the dish was flavorful. My only complaint is that the sauce was runny so it didn’t stick to the pasta. It made it a bit hard to eat without dripping the sauce on your shirt and it me wish I had a spoon to eat the pasta with. I also had the dessert special, which was a flourless chocolate pie that had the texture of mouse. It came with a whipped cream and toasted hazelnuts on top. Delish. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were attentive and helpful.
