Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks and a great burger. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12. Any night of the week, Bar Mezzana welcomes with a thoughtful wine list, delightful cocktails, delicious food and friendly staff!

    Table wasn’t ready when we arrived. Had to wait over 30 mins for bread, olive oil, and olives. When the mains came out the broccoli rabe tasted burnt and like lighter fluid. The scallops were over cooked and rubbery. The zucchini they were accompanied with were mushy and over salted and seasoned. The amatriciana tasted sweet and out of a can—no spice at all. The bucatini was soggy and over cooked. awful experience and totally overpriced.

    We loved eating on the patio. The burrata, mussels, and octopus gnocchi were amazing.

    Bar Mezzana just gets better every year. A superb wine list and clever and varied food oferings served up by efficient and friendly waitstaff.

    They have changed menu to “family style”. The portions are smaller and price of entree is less but not by much. The value has gone down by making this change. The food itself remains good but this change is not for the better.

    We had such a great experience at Bar Mezzana! My mom is GF and they carefully explained the menu and which items would be best after asking her what type of dish she was interested in. The staff found out we were celebrating and brought us over sparkling dessert wine after our mains. It was fabulous and really took our night over the top! I recommend this place to anyone.
