Bar Mezzana is a coastal Italian restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch at Ink Block in Boston’s South End, specializing in crudo and hand-made pasta. Signature dishes like Chicken Under a Brick, Grilled Octopus and Orecchiette with Sausage have become instant classics. Seasonal menu updates incorporate flavors from local farmers and purveyors. The crudo menu changes daily - think Nantucket bay scallops and razor clams along with Japanese and European delicacies like shima aji and lubina. All are expertly prepared with bright touches of citrus, oils and salts.
Reserve in the dining room for a family dinner or date night. Enjoy the bar and lounge for bar snacks and a great burger. A private dining room is available for a business event or intimate party for up to 12. Any night of the week, Bar Mezzana welcomes with a thoughtful wine list, delightful cocktails, delicious food and friendly staff!

    Our waiter was excellent and everything that we had to eat was very good. The size of our entrées and drinks were extremely small. We almost felt like it was just that they were giving us freebies to treat us because it was valentines weekend. They did not feel like they were actually real items that we had ordered directly e yo being extremely small. We were also seated directly next to another couple within like a foot and a half or so. That was way too close and made us feel quite uncomfortable. .

    Went for the tasting menu and although the dishes tasted great, they were tiny and not worth the price. There were 3 of us, and were given tiny portions to share among us for each course. Sad cos the food was good and we wanted more.

    We decided to try this place out for Valentine’s Day instead of our usual steakhouse dinner and it was a great experience. We had high-top seating in a more private area where there were 3 other couples so you could definitely hear each other’s conversations but it was still intimate! Our server Alessandro was wonderful. Food was pretty good - portions are smaller and on the pricier side so take that into consideration! Drinks are delicious, dessert was fantastic. Would love to try this place out again on a less-busier night!

    This place never disappoints! It was a perfect place to go for Valentine’s Day! As usual the food and drinks were delicious and the staff was so friendly and accommodating with food allergies. Thank you! Can’t wait to go back.

    Fabulous! Four of us each had wonderful meals. The menu variety was great and the wait staff and kitchen were very willing to help me navigate foods I cannot eat. The evening was delightful!

    Wonderful family dinner. From appetizers of eggplant dip and olives to mussels and pastas, the dinner did not disappoint. Great tastes! Mocktails also a lot of fun!

    Bar Mazzana never disappoints. Great experience all around - with excellent cocktails, delicious family style / shared options, and all items were prepared well. Even though I love trying new places, I always enjoy going back!

    From the moment we walked in until our final bite, the service was exceptional. Dined here for a work dinner and sampled many dishes from the kitchen. Everything was excellent. The mussels were so delicious that we kept the broth to dip more bread. Each of the pastas we sampled (agnolotti, bucatini, and tagliolini) each had a unique flavor that played into the winter season with hearty flavors without being overpowering. I would absolutely recommend Bar Mezzana for anyone in the area
