                    Nice restaurant, but portions are very small, prices are very high, and the food is average at best. Go on an expense account if you can’t get in anywhere else.

                    My 2nd time dining at Bar Mar, once at lunch and last night for dinner. The offering and meals are excellent. Fresh, quality and the culinary look and feel is beautiful. A variety of seating is offered in a hip and artistic environment.

                    If we could have returned for dinner tomorrow night it would have been perfect ; unfortunately Bar Mar is not open for dinner on Mondays. Pre Joffrey matinee I took my friend visiting from NYC to Bar Mar. She’s a foodie and loves creative sushi/sashimi and all things fish related. We devoured the Neptune’s Pillows and threatened to lick the serving plate for the remnants of the sauce. The crab cake was decorative and decadent. The tuna tartare in its perfectly toasted brioche roll with sauce was a complete winner. Then we were encouraged to try the desserts by April and Victoria. Which was better, the deconstructed key lime pie or the sticky toffee pudding with homemade ice cream? We could not decide. A 10 in every aspect

                    there was only one dish we had that I found exception - the crab cake. it was a very different and fresh take on a crab cake, and the flavors were wonderful. the rest of the dishes I thought were cool and trendy, with great presentations. the fish was fresh and tasty, however they just weren't thatttt good. and for that price, I expect that good. the atmosphere was great - the giant squid chandelier was gorgeous. the service was fine. I don't regret the meal, but I probably wouldn't plan to go back.

                    Had reservations and somehow still waiting 21 minutes past reservation time to be seated while there was about 7 open tables. Host staff needs to improve. Server was on point and definitely made up for the lack of organization for host staff. Food and drinks were outstanding! Would recommend to others but I will not be returning.
