Aloha! What an amazing new restaurant!! The chef apparently won the hardest Chopped TV competition I’ve heard of and then opened up this place recently. Everything we tried was delicious. From the shrimp to tacos to salads to s’mores dessert that came with an open flame to roast homemade marshmallows. Don’t get me started on other menu items like the corn dog lobster and oxtail pot pie. We are coming back this weekend for their new brunch, too. Chef Cidney was so nice and her staff rocked. Let’s support an awesome new restaurant y’all. Mahalo Chef Cidney!

We happened upon Banyans tonight while searching for a local place while visiting a friend on the island. We did not know how talented and reknowned the Chef was, but we knew the school she went to is a great place. The main dining room was a bit loud due to a celebrating table, but the host accomodated my request to move us over to the other dining room. Both have great atmosphere. The Ceviche was our starter and was Superb. Next we decided on the Lobster Corn Dogs and a side Caesar salad. Scrumptious is too little to describe these dishes. My wife got a chance to sample the 8-hour Oxtail Pot Pie and was overjoyed with the flavorful tenderness of the meat. I finished up with the Baklava Cheesecake and I was in heavenly bliss. The staff was great. We had such wonderful experience we are taking our host back tomorrow for dinner. And yes I am posting pics of my dishes on Instagram just check the restaurants gram. I tagged them.

Had high hopes for this place as it was featured so nicely on IG. The lobster corn dog was lacking…no flavor to the lobster and the breading was soggy and burnt. The tako tacos didn’t have balance…the tako lacked texture n flavor, overpowered by the intensely seasoned hamburger in it. It seemed to be missing a fresh, acidic aspect like side of lime or some cilantro. If the tako wasn’t In it, you probably couldn’t tell the difference. The patatas was decent, but needed a touch more of salt. The beet and orange arugula salad was fresh and satisfying, but could’ve used more orange pieces and some chunks of that wonderful goat cheese instead of all grated, which melts away quickly. The restaurant is beautiful, has a nice energetic vibe, and I would just love to see the food kicked up to its intended perfection.

First time here and loved it! The menu was innovative, our server was helpful and the live music set the perfect vibe. The acoustics could be improved a bit as there was a large party in the back area with us and we did have to strain a bit to have a conversation once all the tables were filled. But it was a great place to hang out. Kailua definitely needed another restaurant like this, slightly more upscale but still comfortable with great food. We’ll definitely be back!

Great service, ambience, food and drink. We arrived in time for a happy hour drink, followed by the cheese & charcuterie board, lobster hot dog and venison chops in mole. All excellent. Looking forward to trying brunch service when it opens in a few weeks.

The place looked awesome! The bathrooms were really cool and the tree is a cool vibe inside. Great food nice people, we had a nice time.

Celebrating my husband’s birthday today so we were excited to try this new restaurant. The ambiance is great, the staff are all very friendly. The hostess stopped by our table to chat, let us know of upcoming happenings. We were a little disappointed however, the food service didn’t match the ambiance of the restaurant. We got to the restaurant at 5:30pm on a Tuesday. We got the Happy Hour menu only, but mentioned we were there for dinner. Dining area doesn’t open till 6pm. There was one couple on a table and a family of 4 on another table. We ordered drinks (wine) and the charcuterie tray appetizer at around 5:45pm. We got our drink order right away, but we didn’t get the charcuterie tray till about 6:25pm. Charcuterie tray was nice though, we enjoyed it. We had to ask for the dinner menu. We ordered the Caesar salad to share, it tasted okay. My husband ordered the venison chops which he enjoyed, but thought it was a bit pricey for 3 small chops. I ordered the Tako Tacos which tasted just okay for me. It was a bit spicy. We also had to ask for water refills twice and utensils. Our utensils were taken away after appetizer clean up. With that said, this restaurant is still relatively new, just opening a couple of months ago. We do plan to come back and try this place again. I’ve got my eye on a few other things to try.

The cocktails were terrific. Small bites were on point the hamachi kama was delicious. The oxtail pot pie was great. Every one was friendly, could feel the Aloha!

The Caesar was quite good, the sliders were delicious, the little figgy cocktail was absolutely perfect, the smores were the most fun I have ever had eating a dessert in a restaurant (so fun!), the dip trio was ok, but probably would not get again. The service was superb and the ambiance was as well. Had a lovely time, will definitely be back.
