Banquet Chinese is a restaurant and venue unlike any other found in Colchester or North Essex today. This is Chinese food the way it is meant to be experienced! Our mouth-watering dishes are cooked to perfection by award-winning chefs using only the freshest and finest ingredients.

The interior has been carefully chosen and imported from China to create a genuine and sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy your lunch or evening meal, perhaps together with a bottle of wine from the well rounded wine list supplied by Liberty Wines.

We have two private dining rooms available for your own exclusive parties, weddings and corporate conferences. The two rooms have their own entrance and can hold 30 and 50 people respectively, but for larger gatherings, the two rooms can be combined. Menus can be tailored to individual requirements ranging from Dim Sum to the finest Chinese banquet. Our private dining rooms have access to our beautiful Chinese style garden with lovely water features. Lovely food and friendly service which is done efficiently but without rushing. One dish was the wrong order but this was sorted out very quickly and without fuss. Love the hotpots and the portion sizes from à la carte menu. All in all the prices are fair and represent good value for money as the food quality is of a high standard. Drinks are equally good value for a decent standard of restaurant. The restaurant is highly popular so booking is essential. At busy times it can be quite noisy but there is a good vibe and plenty of Chinese diners which is a good sign. There are quite a few unique dishes which aren't found in standard Chinese restaurants that are definitely worth trying.

Always a pleasure. The food is excellent with Dim Sum at lunchtime and is certainly not typical UK "Chinese". Nice ambience with friendly and efficient service. Happy faces all round enjoying the food.

Food is always fresh tasting and full of flavour. Not normally so busy on Sunday evening but no drop off on quality of food and service....even if they were out of Morning Glory !
