Banquet Chinese is a restaurant and venue unlike any other found in Colchester or North Essex today. This is Chinese food the way it is meant to be experienced! Our mouth-watering dishes are cooked to perfection by award-winning chefs using only the freshest and finest ingredients.

The interior has been carefully chosen and imported from China to create a genuine and sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy your lunch or evening meal, perhaps together with a bottle of wine from the well rounded wine list supplied by Liberty Wines.

We have two private dining rooms available for your own exclusive parties, weddings and corporate conferences. The two rooms have their own entrance and can hold 30 and 50 people respectively, but for larger gatherings, the two rooms can be combined. Menus can be tailored to individual requirements ranging from Dim Sum to the finest Chinese banquet. Our private dining rooms have access to our beautiful Chinese style garden with lovely water features. A 5 star service all round- very attentive, always kept topped up with drinks, good quality food and would recommend anyone to go here. Also they made a cheesecake and sang happy birthday to my father (which we didn’t ask for) but was such a lovely touch to the evening.

If you’re prepared to pay then you won’t be disappointed, the food is first class. We found the staff to be polite and attentive. We ordered a set menu and asked to swap one of the dishes with no problem at all. The ambience lets this place down. The lighting is too bright and our visit late September the temperature was a little on the cool side. Would book again.

Good food and polite staff. Would definitely go again. We chose the banquet set meal for three and one meal chosen off the menu for our companion. We all gave it the thumbs up.

Sadly the food was bland and the chicken was odd! We left our main meal. We were so looking forward to visiting, we were disappointed.

A really nice atmosphere, busy and relaxed with lots of families. Great food and kind and attentive staff who gave my daughter a treat for her birthday.

The dim sum has an authentic Hong Kong flavor, and the service from the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended!
