Bank+Vine is serving up a fresh and seasonal menu from a passionate culinary team, focusing on a farm to table concept and showcasing produce at the peak of its season.

Located in one of downtown Wilkes-Barre’s historic buildings, Bank+Vine provides both an indoor and outdoor casual dining experience with plates meant to be shared around the table. Take a trip back to 1912 and visit the old South Side Bank while dining in 'The Lobby' with it's 30 foot vaulted ceilings and a private dining room overlooking the entire restaurant, perfect for gatherings of 10 people with a private restroom.

Interested in booking the best seat in the house? 'The Annex' can accommodate up to 10 people with views overlooking the restaurant floor. Equipped with it's own restroom, this is the perfect space to stay away from the crowds. 'The Reserve', can be used for parties up to 25 with the current restrictions in place. This room also includes a projector and screen which are ideal for business meetings or special events like a wedding or rehearsal dinner.

As always, this is one of, if not the finest dining experience in the NEPA area. Wonderful service and menu. Enjoyed every dish.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and meal. Service was excellent. Staff was friendly. Food was delicious and perfectly presented. Would love to return on our next trip to PA. Thank you!

Sadly, B+V is no longer the culinary experience that it used to be under Chef Chad Gelso. The dishes lack editorial. For example, the beef tallow red onion appetizer was an unappealing quantity of red onions that failed to be transformed by the cooking method or presentation, and actually hid a more delicious smear of whipped ricotta. The hasselback potato accompanying the seared duck weren’t executed correctly, so the layers didn’t open while cooking to crisp individually, leaving a similarly unappetizing log of slightly underdone russet. Desserts okay but felt like they were freelanced. Drinks and service still wowed but the food has lost its panache.

Food was great. However we got there 15 minutes before our reservation and were told to sit at the side bar and have a drink while our table opened. Never had anyone ask us for a drink. Then did not get seated till 5 minutes after our reservation. Then once seated did not have our someone come to our table for another 20 minutes. Service during dinner was ok however again if things are more tentative we would have ordered more food and more drinks was basically the theme of the night. In the end we ate our food and left instead of spending more money at the restaurant.

Waited 20 minutes for our table despite having a reservation and then waited over 2 hours for our food. I understand they may have been short staffed but they were not forthcoming about the wait time even after they lost our order.

Appetizers came out quickly and then entrees took an additional 55 minutes for 2 people. The duck was soggy and fatty, with no sear on it. The potatoes were cold on the inside and unseasoned, and looked like they came from a frozen pack. Very disappointing for a $50 entree.

Each of our appetizers and main courses had something wrong. Our wine by the glass was mixed up, and the second round of wine was different than the first (we ordered the same thing). The soup, main courses, and desert were each delivered without the appropriate utensils (spoons and knives). The charcuterie was delivered without bread/crackers, and we had to show the menu to prove it. The restaurant was about 3/4 full and there were several food runners and wait staff. Perhaps no one reviews what comes out of the kitchen. Our waitress was great and attentive.

Wonderful old building converted to restaurant. Every dish was excellent especially the petite Wellington appetizer

Amazing food in a casual (but also upscale) atmosphere. Excellent drink selection and wonderful staff. I’ve never had anything they prepared that wasn’t delicious. They even have a kids menu.

At one time Bank and Vine was a favorite - then the chef and the menu changed. Had not been back for several years. Saw on Open Table the menu had changed so we gave it another shot. We were not disappointed. To begin the current menu has a much broader selection with a good mix of traditional dishes (steak, pork chop, airline chicken), more eclectic choices and a tasting menu. I stated with a shrimp cocktail: 12 (TWELVE!) delicious shrimp - a meal unto itself. My wife had the burrata with orange marmalade which was a WOW flavor combo. I had salmon as a main course - cooked perfectly with a very non-traditional pomegranate sauce - a surprisingly delightful combination. My wife had chicken parma which was prepared well but was dusted with red pepper flakes which gave it a hotness that was not appreciated. Very nice wine list and cocktail list. Overall we had a very nice meal and were delighted with the changes. We will definitely be back - Bank and Vine is back on the rotation for fine dining in the Wyoming Valley.
