What a delightful lunch we had. The “sunroom” is a beautiful place to sit. Our server Jack H. was perfectly attentive without hovering over our table. Great wine list! Salmon Crispy Rice amazing. French Fries a MUST! I had the Lobster Cobb Salad and my wife had the Salmon Rice Bowl and both were absolutely delicious. Our first time experience was so great we made a new reservation for dinner. Can’t wait!

Food quality is not in line with the prices being charged. Crab cake is marketed as jumbo lump, but maybe 1/4th is jumbo lump and rest is filler/claw meat. For $30.00 not worth it. Chilean sea bass portion was pathetic for $60.00. Didn't taste fresh & they subbed broccolini for bokchoy without notification. Lobster risotto was gross. Partner didn't eat it and they didn't ask if anything was wrong. Ambience of restaurant is great but for prices, you expect food to be better. Mastros is a much better experience & food is superior. Service was excellent however. Asked if any occasions being celebrated & we were celebrating a promotion and waiter brought free dessert with candle. Nice touch. Again, for the area, Balthaire probably has best ambience but I don't see why food cannot be better for prices being charged. Typical LA thing.

I took my 94 year old Mom for brunch… I’d only been to Baltaire for dinner. At first, I thought I walked into a bachelorette’s party by accident because the tables were full of women. As my eyes adjusted I noticed a few men sprinkled about. Neither here nor there, just an observation. Jack, our server, was wonderful and my Mom thought he was very handsome (she’s 94 but not blind)! The brunch menu was diverse and, for the most part, quite yummy. A few items come out automatically, salmon with various toppings, mini Bellini’s and cream, three different hummus like dips with veggies, and a couple other things I can’t remember. I ordered the filet Benedict and my Mom ordered the lobster omelet. The omelet was very very yellow so I think they only used the yolks, not sure, and it came with fried potato balls. It was good, not “knock your socks off” good but okay. I ordered my steak medium but it was still moo-ing a bit so I brought it home so that I can cook it a bit more and have it for dinner. All in all it was a nice experience but I prefer having dinner here.

Perfect brunch. No notes. Our server was incredibly helpful and attentive. Be sure to get a cinnamon roll!

We always enjoy Baltaire. My husband loves the East coast oysters and I just enjoy being there in the lovely environment they produce. Everything is good and always served beautifully. They also have an excellent wine selection that would satisfy most pocketbooks.

I can't believe myself but unfortunately this day has come... I am a loyal Baltaire customer who has been coming to this restaurant for many years, celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and just bringing friends to enjoy the best. But... not anymore I guess... Consistency is a top priority for me and until last night Baltaire never disappointed in this aspect. I don't know what happened but... the service was TERRIBLE, extremely inattentive, laughably ignorant. The lady who was assigned to our table (Lauren if I'm not mistaken) was extremely self-important and that's about all I can say to describe her. She never once came over to ask how we were doing, after asking for salt three times we were given black pepper, and of course she forgot the tea etc. But never mind that, I'm not one to mope, although the atmosphere of the birthday dinner was killed on the spot, the food... WHAT HAPPENED, BALTAIRE?? Did you change the chef? Why was the filet mignon just a half-boiled piece of meat with an unpleasant taste? Why are the lamb chops not served with a regular sauce but swimming in some bland liquid? Why did the salmon on crispy rice need so much salt and condiments to be edible? The only things that didn't disappoint were the octopus and the beignets. Sad, very very sad... This was my favorite restaurant in LA for many years but I will never go back. I guess no one is perfect.
