If you're going to take your name from a badass like the patron saint of blacksmiths, you better be able to back it up. Baldamar marks the turning point where we usher in the new standard for style, service and steak. It means the menu’s made with old-world craft at its core and modern day meat eaters in mind — with flavors forged in fire and folded into pure primal perfection. It’s where every steak is aged 40 days and 40 nights for a taste of biblical proportion, and where crazy-fresh seafood means it was caught during your morning commute. At the bar sits every spirit imaginable, and someone who isn’t afraid to use them. This is more than a new steakhouse. It’s a line in the sand. It’s not just where you celebrate special occasions.     We look forward to an annual dinner at Baldamar once a year leading up to the holidays. This is the first year we haven’t been 100% pleased. Both of our steaks were overcooked, as was our street corn. Portions were small. I paid an extra $20 for crab on my fillet only to receive a few shavings of crab on my plate. We were seated at the first table on the corner in a heavy lane of traffic I stared at groups people waiting for tables our entire meal. Staff were friendly, just wished our dining experience was better given the cost of our meal and that this is a once a year treat for us.

    I absolutely love Baldamar. It’s by far my favorite place to go. However, the last 2 times I was there, even though I had a reservation and request for bar seating, I was not able to sit in that area. Reservations were made weeks ahead of time and so it was slightly disappointing to not get a bar table. Other than that, the service is always amazing and the food is top tier. It definitely won’t deter me from coming back.

    Absolutely love the food, wine, aperitifs and dessert! Took my boys and my nephew’s wife and had indescribably great food, ambiance, service and limoncello which brought me back to Italy! Love everything and will be back again and again!

    We let them know in advance that it’s our 40th anniversary and we were treated like royalty! The staff is exceptional. A manager came over to answer our questions and make recommendations. Our table was even decorated! This restaurant is exceptional! The food is excellent ◡̈

    Food and service at Baldamar were excellent! We have eaten at Baldamar a number of times and have never been disappointed. The scallops and artichoke hearts were delicious, and I am already looking forward to our next visit to Baldamar.

    We ate here for our joint birthday dinner. The food was phenomenal - the mashed potatoes were divine and our filets were perfect. Cocktails were excellent. Dessert was wonderful also - I had the chocolate cake (HUGE portion, easily shareable) and my husband had the pecan bourbon crème brûlée. Could not have asked for a better toddler-free date night!

    Excellent food and service by Nick! We had the nachos for an appetizer- delicious and the pork shank, which was even more delicious. My son had the ribs and said they were the best he’d ever had! Such a gem of a spot for the Twin Cities!

    Had the brunch buffet and can't imagine how we could have enjoyed it more. The selection was great. The quality and flavor of the food was amazing. The service was absolutely spectacular. Things we noted specifically - perfect horseradish bite in the cocktail sauce for some generously sized shrimp, fun and spicy salad dressing, and well seasoned prime rib.

    Everything is spectacular at Baldamar! The food is beyond amazing; the entire staff - from the hostess to the waiter to the maitre'd is engaging and welcoming; the restaurant decor is vibrant and beautiful!
