Our private dining room, Toad Hall, has been designed to heighten any event and is the ultimate playground for adults. Discretely located in a spacious room below the bar, our private dining room can seat up to 12 guests for an indulgent lunch or dinner for that special occasion or cater for parties of up to 25 guests for a standing event.

We stumbled upon this place and I am so glad that we did. The service was great, the food was yummy, and all of the Wind in the Willows nods were so cute and well done.

Badger was close to the main tourist areas of old town Edinburgh, yet it felt like a local spot. The atmosphere was great and super cute. The comfort food was perfect after a long day walking around town. I had fried chicken, a famous steak, and a haggis pie with fries. So good! Plus, there is local beer on tap. I highly recommend it for a family casual night out.

Great waitress seated us and soon took our order. Fish and chips were really good— crisp and tasty as they add boiled be. Mushy peas were also great as were the chips. We look forward to another meal here soon!

My friends and I had a lovely time when we went out for drinks on Saturday. Staff were friendly and very attentive with our drinks order. Every time I book here with friends or family the staff are amazing!

First visit. Group of 5 of us for lunch on Friday 21 June 2024. We all agreed that the food was excellent as was the service. Good prices for Central Edinburgh. Highly recommended.

I booked a table for Fathers day and we were all pleasantly surprised. The setting gave a warm and spacious feel, the use of different mood lighting as the evening went on was a really nice touch. The food was very enjoyable and there was a great choice for everyone and the cost was very reasonable, I would highly recommend.

Excellent dining experience! Fish and chips were outstanding…so very light, but crispy. Steak and haggis pie was very well cooked and taste was perfect. When waitstaff noticed my coat around my shoulders, they asked if the air con was blowing on me and adjusted it since it was a cool evening. Cocktails were absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced. We were asked twice if we had any dietary restrictions, which we did not, but they were eager to make sure. Outside eating available during nice weather. Loved the theme and back story to the name of the restaurant!
