To us, BABs is a place for friends, or those who will soon be. BABs is a casual energetic place with yummy food, authentic hospitality, great libations and friendly faces.

We cook ingredient driven food where inspiration comes from our personal experiences or one of the many cultures represented in our area, past and present. Our cooking is inspired by small local farms, using ingredients that are seasonal and raised or caught with care.

New Orleans is our home. It’s a place with an amazing sense of community where we’ve created meaningful relationships, and met extraordinary people along the way. We’re excited to continue feeding visitors and the people like us, who call it home.

Absolutely amazing food. We ate at a lot of places while in NOLA, and Bywater had the most interesting and unique flavors. An enjoyable experience - we were dancing in our seats as we ate.

What an amazing experience! Our food was amazing and lived up to the hype. The cabbage salad is life-changing. Our waitress, the one from Wisconsin, was awesome, personable and real. The space and ambience are both comfortably sophisticated. Easily my new favorite restaurant in NOLA and easy to see why the chef received the James Beard Award!

We needed to increase the size of our party at the last minute and move indoors due to a shift in the weather and the restaurant was gracious and accommodating.

Food was spectacular! Such interesting food options we loved our meal here. The service also was outstanding. Our server offered suggestions and was very helpful.

Great experience and food! I have been to BAB three times now but this is my first time writing a review. The food is absolutely outstanding and there is great seating for small or large groups as well as couples. Hands down favorite place to dine out in New Orleans right now.

We were so appreciative to be accommodated at the last minute on a Friday night. The cornbread was out of this world. Not sure how long they will have this seasonal offering so do yourself a favor and get in there to experience it before it is gone.

(The noise level rating I gave was meant to indicate a low noise level. Hope that is how it is interpreted.) The ambiance was comfortable with the right amount of lighting, a warm welcome atmosphere. The staff were professional and made us feel at home. We had appetizers and entries and all our choices were delivered in non-rushed time, but not overly long. The entries arrived a few minutes after the first dishes were cleared. A perfect pause for us to sip our drinks and comment on the first tastes. Dinner arrived and the flavors were some of the best I've experienced in years. All the component of the dishwere complementary to each other, while able to stand on their own (my wife had the rabbit and I the pork belly). Each bite was a discover of great tastes lingered over, but wanting the next bite. The serving sizes were perfect, you knew you had had a good amount. We were glad we had room for desert. The offerings were a simple and tasty end to the journey, not a grand finally that tries to outshine the other courses, but a simple gentle ending. The pace, of our dining experience was as delightful as the food. We had a very relaxed dinner from start to finish. The staff left us alone for the most part, never filling half empty glasses and otherwise hovering over us. They were there when we needed something, which is how it should be. First class and a must visit.

Went for the Sunday Roast. It was fantastic! We had the octopus appetizer, which was delicious and extremely fresh. Sunday roast consisted of grilled ribeye, potato purée, caramelized turnips, cabbage salad, and yorkshire pudding. $62 for 2 people, and we brought food home.
