An homage to owner Kris Lelcaj’s father, “babo” (slang for “dad” in Albanian) is a gourmet, all-day diner in Midtown Detroit. We will feature a menu comprised of creative, artisanal takes on comfort food classics that will be served up in a bright, lively ambiance.
We pride ourselves on carrying products of the highest quality and social responsibility from local, small batch producers. We will serve our guests, team members and community with a brand of unmatched hospitality. We will cultivate a dining experience that is as remarkable and unique as the city we call home.

Amazing service! The food was amazing per usual. I had the crème brûlée French toast, sticky wings and an espresso martini—I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Still one of my favorite brunch restaurants in the area!

We loved Babo! This was our first time. The food was delicious and a great value. We enjoyed lattes and hot chocolate and loved our chicken and waffles / Frida skillet and churros. Our waitress was great and the ambiance was very enjoyable. We will be back to try out lunch dishes!

Amazing experience. Food was delicious and so was the ambiance. Staff was more than friendly and made the brunch worth while.

Went for Sunday brunch. Lively and bright spot for breakfast. Staff was attentive and working to get everyone in and out without making anyone feel like they were over staying their welcome. Found it a bit chilly as every time the door opened there was blast of cold air on our table. Food was good. Ventialtion not great, all our jackets and clothing had a lingering odor of kitchen grease.
