At Babette, the husband and wife team of Joan Ellis and Patrick Hooker, are in the kitchen preparing each plate to ensure that their vision and taste profile are translated to each diner. The attention to detail are evident in not only the food they make but also the ambience they have created. The interior of the restaurant is natural brick and the couple have chosen a rich color palette of deep blues and greens for the walls. An elegant chandelier hangs over a natural wood backed booth providing both a cozy and elegant feel to the room. Outside on the spacious patio, a magnificent redwood tree provides natural shade to the built in seating area and plants are abundant creating a lush, garden setting.
Live music Brunches, New York style Pizza, unique Entrees and our famous Sicilian Lemon Almond Pistachio Cake are just a taste of what you will find at Babette. Warm and knowledgeable staff will make you feel like part of the family.

Babette Large Party Experience
Plusieurs dates disponibles
For parties between 10-20 people, we offer a Large Party Prix Fixe Menu: A multi-course, family style experience which features dishes from our seasonal menu, and is the best way to dine at Babette with a larger group. We consider anything over 20 to be a full by-out and you will need to speak with us directly for details. Our large Prix Fixe Menus are priced separately for either Brunch or Dinner. Brunch- $35 per person (beverages, tax and gratuity not included) Dinner- $50 per person includes dessert (beverages, tax and gratuity not included) Please note: the entire group must participate. Where possible, we will accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies, and of course, you are welcome to add on extra dishes from our menu.

Upon sitting down for our 7pm reservation, we learned that 3 things on the menu were sold out - and it’s not a huge menu. 2 wines were “sold out” as well. We waited to talk to our server to ask a few questions, 10 mins went by and no one came to our table, so we stood up and left. Also the restaurant was freezing and everyone had their coats on. Won’t be back / bad first impression.

Lovely meal, excellent service, nice people. The atmosphere is great, hip music, great space. The food was delicious. Recommend the gnocchi.

Babette always delivers a top notch experience. The service is amazing, and the pizzas are very large and delicious. If the weather is nice, the back patio is the place to be. We had the mushroom pizza, and the little green salad was really good.

We've been dining here since they opened the San Pablo location. My favorite pizza in Berkeley as the crust is the best! Love all the other dishes on the menu too! If you love outdoor dining they have a fantastic area that tends to be very popular for much of the year. A top recommendation by far.

Good place to go with guests who have a variety of eating preferences. Our friends are vegan and the chef adjusted dishes to their preferences. We all agreed the food was outstanding. Delicious food and friendly service.

Celebrated a friends 71st birthday...outside table was set for 10 when we arrived...very strong heaters and multiple offers of blankets made the experience perfect...Sunday brunch was even nicer with jazz music and no push or hurry from staff...over all an outstanding experience and will be back again as well as encourage others to go...Blueberry ricotta pancakes were awesome

I just love Babette. The patio is beautiful, brick walls and glowing lights under the big redwood, the indoor space interesting and stylish and warm. The food is a treat. Today we had the borscht with short ribs, unusual and delicious. Also the 2 cheese and grilled onion sandwich, and the baby gem salad with poached salmon. The salads had thin cumquat slices and grapefruit as well as greens, very fresh. Also the almond pistachio cake that we shared with a candle since we were celebrating a birthday. Every bite was a pleasure. I am so glad that Babette is open for lunch now!
