I have been to Baar Baar once in the past and really liked it. This was not the case today. My reservation was at 7. We got seated around 7:15 and placed the order within 10 minutes. And then we waited and we waited and we waited some more. At 8, the host came to ask if we had placed the order. We explained, we had been waiting for 35 minutes. He went to check, apologized for the delay and explained that our food was sent to another table. To add insult to injury. Party next to our table arrived at 7:45 and was served within 5 minutes of ordering. They kept getting excellent service at their table while we watched waiting to get our server's attention. I have lived in LA for 20 years, ate at the most snootiest of places, but haven't experienced this behavior. I am baffled. Is this their growth strategy? Tier your patrons and serve some over the others. Anyways, glad it's over. Needless to say, no one in my social circle will eat there again.

Fantastic food! The duck tacos and beef short ribs are a must. Cocktails were a little too wild for my taste, but they still had a full bar with the classics. Also our waiter had enthusiasm for and knowledge of the menu, great service. Can't wait to go back.

Food looks good but when comes to taste it is hit and miss. Butter chicken is very average tasting. Sweeter notes from cardamom and cinnamon are stronger and overpower the typical expected tanginess of typical butter chicken gravy. Chicken typically used for butter chicken is tandoori chicken. Chicken placed in the gravy here is not seasoned itself well and quite bland. Chef Sekar may need to do some quality control here.

Gorgeous venue, amazing service, food is inventive and delicious, drinks have a delicious south Asian twist, and overall amazing LA gem that’s perfect for the whole family. And I’m obsessed with the gorg wallpaper! Can they come decorate my house?

Unfortunately, the restaurant and the quality of the food have noticeably declined since it first opened. The interior design, lighting, and ambiance feel lacking and incomplete. Even a simple intervention, such as adding plants or accents, would greatly improve the overall experience.

We asked them to provide something special for my son’s 25th birthday when we reserved our table but it seems they don’t even ready any notes at all . Even we asked for best table but couldn’t full fill that request as well

Service was terrible. The owner came around to help us as the servers were nowhere to be seen even despite the restaurant not being full. Food was good. Unique and tasty dishes, especially the cauliflower 65, sea bass, the Kerala chicken and kheema biryani. Avocado bhel is a skip. Overall would be a good experience, if the service was better.

A rare gem for modern Indian cuisine. Everything from drinks to food is delicious !

The restaurant ambience is beautiful and the bar is very nice. We came for dinner so perhaps this is why I didn’t have as good of time as I have heard from others who have visited. We got sat in the back of the restaurant, where there are were no people and basically we felt a bit disenfranchised. As the night progressed a few others were added to the area but not enough to make much of a difference in this review. Our waiter was extremely rude and acted as if he was annoyed by any of our questions. He was not very kind nor was he helpful. I felt so bad for my group because I recommended we come here. While the food and drinks were not horrible, it was all underwhelming. Our group was generally not impressed and are not likely to return.

Never heard of a “high end” Indian restaurant, but it had the authentic flavor with a fancy twist on the experience.
