Welcome to BEHIND. We are an intimate 1 Michelin star fish-focused tasting menu restaurant run by chef Andy Beynon. Situated on the edge of London Fields, Hackney, BEHIND has 18 kitchen-table seats for lunch and dinner sittings, as well as a relaxed wine bar.

BEHIND is Andy Beynon’s first restaurant, opened in October 2020. After just 20 days’ trading it was awarded its first Michelin Star. Andy spent 15 years working in some of the best Michelin star restaurants in the country, including with chefs Claude Bosi, Phil Howard and Michael Wignall.

The intimate setting was a big plus. I enjoyed the personal service. The food was inventive and beautifully presented. Not only beautiful but the taste matched the presentation. I also appreciated the accommodation they made for my food allergies.

Really fantastic and special experience. Only 16 guests in total all "in" the kitchen. Seafood based, no menu, members of the team bring each dish to you and explain what ingredients and cooking techniques were used. Somehow Andy has managed to create a great laid back vibe, despite being in the hustle and bustle of the kitchen. Amazing food, including Oyster, Mackerel, Mullet, Turbot, Red, Prawns, Crab, Pollock, and two deserts. Informed, knowledgeable service, we will definitely return.

The overall experience was perfect. From the food, to the detailed explanations from the chefs and sommelier and finally the service and perfectly thought out wine pairings

This was our second visit to Behind, and it was even better than we remembered. Flawless unstuffy service and incredible cooking. What a fantastic evening.

Another excellent dining experience, super surprise fish tasting menu. Great chefs who spend time explaining the courses to you, personal attention by the chef patron Andy, always welcoming when you visit. Great wine list. Overall another super experience and we will definitely be back!
