We LOVE this place. Richard, the owner, is fantastic! Killer atmosphere! Aiesha, the bar manager, is awesome! And we love Noah and Rachael; highly knowledgeable servers that will walk you through every detail of the menu. Everyone is great about making sure the guest gets what they want. Expansive menu. We have tried many things for the first time and have found many new favorites! The tuna tar tar appetizer with seaweed chips was a first last night and it did not disappoint! The Awaji dragon roll is yummy. We ALWAYS start w the pork gyoza, Best in town! And the spicy garlic edamame! My son’s favorite is the pork katsu curry! Soooooo good! And he loves the black sesame moji. Go try this place if you haven’t! You’ll be back again and again!

Absolutely FANTASTIC all the way around. Service was excellent. We started with the Burrata (one of the specials), the gyoza veggie dumplings, and spicy garlic butter edamame. Moved on to the Duo Osaka Style pressed sushi, then had the Chilean sea bass for an entree. The sea bass was possibly the best we’ve had and the accompanying risotto was to die for. Finished with the bread pudding (another special) and it was delicious. We already can’t wait to go back.

We loved our experience at Awaji Izakaya! The decor transports you to the streets of Japan, the food is moderately priced and extremely flavorful. The chef was present in the dining room speaking with guests, always a nice touch. The server was lovely and personable with recommendations. We will definitely recommend and be back!

For something called Izakaya, it was sorely lacking in yakitori and a la carte Japanese dishes. It was a sushi bar with a few extras. Staff were lovely.

While we have tried offering more yakitori options in the past, we found that the preferences in OKC differ from those in Japan. Although certain items are popular in Japan, they may not be as well-received by our guests here. Our goal is to provide a menu that aligns with our guests' tastes, which sometimes requires making adjustments. Unfortunately, this means we can't always offer the exact experience you might find in an izakaya in Japan, Los Angeles, or elsewhere. We're glad to hear you enjoyed our staff’s service; we're proud of our team!

Outstanding food! We ate at the bar and everything we tried was delicious! This little gem in a strip mall is very unassuming, but GO! Very casual and worth the trek to Rockwell!
