Bright and airy, with a vintage retro style and featuring distressed wooden tables topped in white marble, salvage greenhouse window frames and comfy linen banquettes, Salt continues Avoca’s emphasis on serving delicious, seasonal dishes with largely locally sourced ingredients. Salt's name comes its Salthill locale - which itself was derived from salt works that were once here - plus the nearby sea and, of course, the seasoning. Menus are fresh and interesting (see below), with plenty of appetizing salads and lighter lunch dishes, reasonably priced for the casual mid-week crowd.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Salt, the food was really lovely the staff were friendly, will definitely be back again.

Had a wonderful lunch at Salt Cafe. The atmosphere and ambiance is second to none. I don’t need to read the menu because I usually have the burger and am never disappointed. Have always enjoyed my experience there.

I got the granola which was delicious. Service was slow and given that's it's a family friendly place, the noise levels were high. It was a bit pricey for what it was and portion size was on the smaller side but I couldn't fault the taste and quality of the food. Would definely return although maybe at a quieter time.

Lovely spot for a tasty lunch with quick service. I enjoyed the crab starter.

Food very average. We went there for brunch and it was very disappointing. 3 people’s Poached eggs were hard. The sausages were burnt. The presentation was poor.

Food was mediocre. Quite Expensive, limited value for money. There was a leak in the ceiling, and people right next to it. Lucky we were down the back, but it was still dripping. The worst thing was the lack of apple juice, quite a mainstream drink. I found the staff unapologetic about this.
