Avli Taverna, located on a quiet tree-lined street in Lincoln Park, offers contemporary and classic Greek small plates, mains, and desserts as well as approachable Greek wines and inventive cocktails.

Enjoy our inviting dining room, lively bar, and seasonal outdoor patio that’s dog-friendly for dinner, lunch, and brunch! We look forward to having you in to experience our core philosophies of Philoxenia (hospitality), Meraki (passion) and Kefi (joy).

                      I first ate here’s couple of years back. I have been back twice in the past couple of weeks. I ordered the Berkshire pork and it was extremely salty. I chalked it up as a one off thing. Last night I ordered octopus, I swear there couldn’t have been more than 2 ounces of octopus on the plate, the rest was just mixed greens. Not a good value at all for $21. I honestly think the food quality and value have dropped significantly since my first visit. Disappointed.

                      I was not feeling well because of the heat and the staff took amazing care of me. They move us. Inside and were so attentive. The food was so good.

                      Lovely spot if you can eat outside. Inside, they had the tables too close together, so it was almost impossible to sit down or move in one’s chair. It is distractingly loud in the back room. The service was exceptionally slow, but it was a busy night. We gave up after appetizers. I’ve had better experiences outside in less busy nights. Perhaps they are short-staffed right now.

                      Unfortunately, we went on the hottest days of the summer. They had the doors open and it was very hot in the establishment. We would’ve stayed longer and drank a couple more glasses of wine, but we just couldn’t help it. It was too hot. The food was great. The service was good and there was air-conditioning in the back area that they weren’t using it, so it was kind of confusing on a 90° day why they would do this.

                      Happy hour is only at the bar. Not stated at all on their menu for happy hour that it’s only at the bar. Total rip off.
