Avli on The Park in Lakeshore East, a MICHELIN Guide recommendation, offers guests contemporary and classic Greek small plates, mains, and desserts as well as approachable Greek wines and inventive cocktails.

Avli had a Dj for Saturday brunch. Sadly, this was a disappointment for us. We were entertaining friends with this lousy background noise. Won't go to brunch at the Avli in the future.

The restaurant is beautiful but chaotic and quite noisy. We often eat at the Winnetka location and expected the food to be similar. Many of the dishes sound similar but seasoning and prep are very different. None of the dishes we had seemed Greek - they spices used were very hot with none of the sublety of authentic Greek food. I had the chicken souvlaki which had a green pesto-like seasoning that was so hot that I couldn’t identify any of the individual spices. It came with a pita and a small container of tzatziki sauce. If you are looking for actual Greek flavor, give this one a pass.

Everything was wonderful, from being greeted at the front door with an amazing hot chocolate (it was a very cold day) to the food, service, and ambiance. We will definitely return!

This is one of our best lunches out in a long time, and very reasonably priced. The chicken souvlaki was wonderful.

The Brussels sprouts were delish and the fries amazing. Our server was friendly and attentive but didn’t hover. We’ll be back!

Had a fantastic lunch (that prix fixe menu is s great deal). Server NOA was a delight too. Beautiful views of the park and wonderful ambience. This is a “hidden gem” - especially for lunch or weekend brunch!

I recently visited Avli with a party of four, and unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. Three of us ordered the lobster pastitsio, which turned out to be incredibly disappointing. The dish was almost entirely pasta, with only three tiny, unimpressive pieces of lobster in each serving. To make matters worse, it was completely devoid of flavor—no seasoning, no salt, no pepper. It was bland to the point of being unenjoyable. Given the high price, we expected a much higher standard in both quality and portion size, especially when lobster is supposed to be the star of the dish. Sadly, this was not the case. For the price we paid, the meal felt like a complete letdown. While the service was adequate, the food quality alone would make us think twice about returning. Hopefully, the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and improves their offerings in the future.

Splendid ambiance and view. We enjoyed a wonderful family birthday dinner. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Our other favorites were the spanakopita and baklava ice cream. Would definitely come back!
