Well let me start by saying this place is amazing and the entire place so classy and elegant with a modern twist!! The food 10/10 I’m very impressed and I’m also a very critic when it comes to food! I will go back over and over again! TOP NOTCH!!! And I can’t forget to say “Sammy the owner” such a wonderful person and he greet us from when we walk in until we walk out! The staff is great….if you don’t go to AVERNA then ur completely a fool!

Overall great dinner - the food is fabulous. The service is great from the minute you are greeted at the door by the owner, Sammy. We sat at a nice table in the back.

Need some kind of sound-absorbing material on the walls...somewhat difficult to carry on a conversation with the noise level...quality of food is ALMOST sufficient to make this a non-issue, but would be much more appealing if one could hear at least some of the other people at their table....however, the noise level will NOT keep us from coming back. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Really like this place. Great food and great service. We love the Surf and Turf there. Shrimp cocktail was one of the best I ever had.

Averna has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious and the service is always phenomenal. My husband and I have enjoyed several dinners at Averna and I always big recommend it to friends and colleagues! I was disappointed with our dining experience Saturday night. We had a reservation for 8pm for 4 people. A credit card was required to hold the reservation which was a new occurrence at this restaurant ( maybe because we had a larger party ). I didn't have a problem with that. However, upon our arrival at 7:50pm we were abruptly told there would be a wait. I didn't have a problem with the wait even though the hostess could have been more polite. As we waited, the wait staff quickly proceeded to set up a table by the front door. As I watched another group of 4 who arrived after us being escorted into the dining room, the owner said we would be seated by the front door because the dining area was full! I very politely said I would prefer not to do that because it was so cold that evening !! He said there was a heater & assured me it would be warm!! Then he disappeared and we were seated !! I didn't want to make a fuss BUT it was FREEZING and every time someone opened the door the wind blew in and it was VERY UNCOMFORTABLE! Honestly, I think we were seated there because one person in our party was wearing jeans ( clean jeans but jeans nonetheless!) ! I really was disappointed! Eating dinner by the front door was unpleasant and I believe we were treated this way based on the appearance of one member of our party. I am unsure if I will return!

Started with a great vodka martini oysters and lump crab. Wedge and then bone in ribeye for me and surf and turf for my wife. We will be back ! Great food and great service. A Rye neighborhood gem.
