avec, un bar à vins conçu par l'équipe primée qui a créé le One Off Hospitality, a ouvert ses portes en 2003 avec le partenariat du chef exécutif Paul Kahan, Donnie Madia et le sommelier Eduard Seitan. Le menu rustique, qui comporte des classiques méditerranéens aux influences du Midwest, prend exemple sur les régions viticoles du sud de la France, de l'Italie, du Portugal et des côtes de l'Espagne. avec reflète les arômes, saveurs et couleurs de la Méditerranée dans sa cuisine, mais propose aussi une carte des vins à prix modéré qui met l'accent sur les petits vignobles du sud-ouest de l'Europe. Ce bar à vins est fier d'être devenu le restaurant partenaire de Blackbird, The Publican, The Violet Hour, Big Star et Publican Quality Meats.

I was visiting Chicago for the first time and after reading many reviews of restaurants, chose Avec. It did not disappoint! Every single bite was absolutely incredible. The depth of flavors were otherworldly. Standouts were the bacon-wrapped dates and the focaccia. We were celebrating my birthday and they made it so special with bubbles and a little chocolate dessert that I’m still dreaming about. Service was also 10/10. We will be back!

Went to Avec for the first time last night and I'm not sure why it took me so long to get here! We had stuffed dates, brisket hummus, corn salad, halibut, and calamari. Loved the halibut, dates, and hummus. The corn salad was too salty for my taste, and the calamari was good, but didn't blow me away. Their small plates are a generous portion. Between 2 people, we had 5, and we were STUFFED!! The service was absolutely stellar! I wish I'd gotten our server's name, because she was fantastic! She gave us great wine recommendations and kept them within a reasonable budget. She was also outgoing & spunky. Would definitely come back just to see her!! Overall, 5 star experience, even though I wasn't crazy about 2 of the dishes!

The food and service, as always, were fantastic. Only, that our order came so quickly and almost all at once, it was extremely hot that one of the guest got a slight burn on their tongue g wish they warn us) and we finished dinner in 45 minutes!!! Crazy !!!

I ate outside, which was fine. Inside there are long shared tables. The wait person forgot to ask me if I wanted salad or chips with my lamb burger and I forgot to tell her, so I got chips, which were very, very salty. So was the lamp burger, which was also small. The Gelato was entirely average.

Amazing experience. Only issue was that we were sitting at the counter closest to the door and it was a bit chilly/windy, so every time the door opened the temp would drop and the menus from the host stand would blow over to me, but everything else about the restaurant made up for it. The dishes were delicious, but a little larger than I was expecting so we over ordered a little. Luckily the hummus with short ribs traveled really well and made for a fantastic breakfast the next morning. Will be back next time I’m in Chicago for sure.

Everything was as anticipated. Service, staff friendliness, food quality etc. Seating wasn't really comfortable but it looked good.

Annie, thank you for the review! We're so happy you got to dine with us! We recently started opening our second floor most Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for dinner service. Up there we have stand alone tables for more traditional seating!
