I wish there was a 6 star rating because this place is one above! At first I thought there might only be a few things on the menu I would like …. But I ended up enjoying 9/10 items ordered (sides and small plates for group). YUM!!! Service, atmosphere and all employees were top notch! Will be dining here when we return along with other locations and concepts to explore. Love the app too!

Waiter was not attentive at all and disappeared for long stretches at a time. Food was amazing. Bussing, food runners and other staff were very good. Not our first time there or our last because the food is amazing.

The decor and ambiance are WONDERFUL! The combinations of flavors were not well conceived. We had brandade which had so much garlic and oil added that it seemed the goal was to remove any remnants of cod flavor. It was good but almost flavorless. The chicken confit was flat and black beans with it really was not a good combo.

Fries were not crisp and the felafel seasoning was too strong for my taste. The fish and other fillings in the grilled whitefish sandwich had all stewed together--maybe segregate the fish from the other ingredients so the it doesn't become a fish stew sandwich?

What an incredible dinner. The knowledgeable server guided us through the menu as it was our first trip. The right amount of food to be shared among us all and every flavor was perfect. Fantastic wine list too!!

We’ve been wanting to try Avec for a while, as we have seen some good looking food as well walk by during brunch and dinner services. We finally had the opportunity to try brunch yesterday, and unfortunately it was disappointing on several fronts. We decided to order three things to share between us, and we almost asked the server to pace them out, but figured she would have done that by default, but she did not and everything came to our very small table all at once. She never checked on our drinks and didn’t check on our food until we were basically done. The food itself looked great, very well presented. We got the pizza carbonara, which was very good, but slightly too salty (and that’s a high bar for me). We also got the hummus, but I think it’s got too much tahini, or something else is making it paste-like and tastes a little off. The homemade pita with the hummus was very good, and came out hot. Finally, we got the sausage cocotte, and that was a salt bomb, neither of us could eat it. They didn’t hesitate to refund it, just unfortunate.

This was my 3rd visit. The hummus portion seems to have shrunk and the onion/jalapeno appetizer is all onions with little taste of jalapeno. Service was ok, it was crowded which is good for Avec. The pasta dish was the highlight, very good.

Absolutely amazing. Visiting in town, and this was top of my list because of The Bear and by far my favorite spot. Incredible food (try the dates!), drinks, attentive service, and great atmosphere. Can’t wait to return next time I’m in Chicago!

Small plates were great (6 total shared by all) cheesecake fantastic. Noise was measured at 92 db too loud maybe main room might be more tolerable.
