There was a lot of staff training the night we were there. Wine by the glass served had to be sent back as it was open behind the bar for too long. Food ordered came out all out of order with IE the primary meal being serviced before the appetizers. Restaurant looked nice, but ambiance was light. Fairly typically priced, but it felt like a lot for a subpar experience.

This was our first time and I will be returning! The hummus appetizer with short rib was amazing and so were the chorizo stuffed dates. Lots of fun drinks and too many options to pick from in one visit!

Our party of four didn’t enjoy our experience at Avec River North—found it to be somewhat “trying too hard.” We found most menu items to have like one too many ingredients, the last one being “odd.” The portions were either oddly large or oddly small; either crazy-salty or devoid of salt. The pacing of the dishes is like “tapas style” as they come out, but the dishes menu has more starter/main type dishes that don’t lend itself to the haphazard pacing. Overall, wasn’t terrible, but won’t be back!

I wish there was a 6 star rating because this place is one above! At first I thought there might only be a few things on the menu I would like …. But I ended up enjoying 9/10 items ordered (sides and small plates for group). YUM!!! Service, atmosphere and all employees were top notch! Will be dining here when we return along with other locations and concepts to explore. Love the app too!

Waiter was not attentive at all and disappeared for long stretches at a time. Food was amazing. Bussing, food runners and other staff were very good. Not our first time there or our last because the food is amazing.

The decor and ambiance are WONDERFUL! The combinations of flavors were not well conceived. We had brandade which had so much garlic and oil added that it seemed the goal was to remove any remnants of cod flavor. It was good but almost flavorless. The chicken confit was flat and black beans with it really was not a good combo.
