The food was good, but the service was very slow. It was a busy evening, but the food took a very long time to arrive and when it did, it was sporatic with poorly timed dishes. I have no problem if the service is slow on a busy night, but our waitress all but disappeared, never checked in with us to see if we needed more water or wine, and we had to ask someone else what happened to our orders. If you're busy and slow, at least communicate with the customers and keep them informed. Don't ignore them and hope they don't complain.

Love the food here, unique style of Indian, imaginative. Service was very good. The owner is attentive to his customers and seems to care that they have a good experience. Highly recommend.

Restaurant was extremely quiet for a Saturday night. There were only 4-tables occupied the whole time that we were there, including ours. Service from the waitress was excellent and she was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was good and tasty. We had the date night menu for 2. This was $99 and consisted of 2-drinks (e.g. wine), 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 side dishes and 1 desert. Overall the food was good rather than excellent. The issue that we saw for an Indian Restaurant was the ambience. The background music was non-descript and certainly not Indian music. Artwork was Western. There were 3-4 TV screens showing hockey games. So trying to be a Sport's Bar, but it did not fit with the remit that this is an Indian restaurant.

Hello James. Thank you enjoying your experience at Aura on The Lake. As for TVs, we are trying various things so we can increase some traffic in these hard times. High rents & labour costs have driven us into the ground and everyday we see people lined up at other places to go in , watch TV and drink beer. The music we play is instrumental bollywood music. Many of those songs are from 50s-80s. We aim to provide excellent food and service. Hopefully you see the hardships we go through in keeping this restaurant going.
