Launched in October 2017, AUN is a small, independent restaurant bringing the Japanese concept of ‘wakon yosai’ to the heart of Stoke Newington.
This idea of learning western techniques without losing a Japanese spirit translates as imaginatively presented dishes that create delicious Japanese flavours using European ingredients alongside traditional ones.

    Lovely restaurant. Staff were polite, efficient and friendly. Food was tasty. Lots of drink choices. Do not expect large portions if you book for lunch.

    The tasting menu is incredible. Delicate and bold flavours are beautifully presented. For each dish, there was something new and fresh. I'd highly recommend it.

    While the courses which were amazing, we're amazing - there were courses which were under par and let the menu down - particularly those towards the end, which were the lasting memory of the place. Perhaps it was just the menu we had on that particular date, but we wouldn't rush back.

    Excellent food! We went for the Vegetable selection and it was all delicious! Great service too. A really nice, relaxed atmosphere. It would be a great date night place too

    Absolutely loved our dinner at AUN! A perfect balance of novel exciting dishes and drinks and balanced flavours, all within a most beautiful environment and plating, with the loveliest staff. Special note to how incredible the vegetarian menu was – something not often seen elsewhere, unfortunately!

    Perhaps it was just a one off as they mentioned they were short staffed - but it took over 2 hours to receive four of the six very small plates. Leaving us pretty hungry and waiting ages between plates. The vibe is so nice and the people were kind, but this particular time we were super disappointed. We had to leave before the full menu could get to us and they initially only offered £16 off off the full bill (approx £145). My partner went back in where they comped us further. They’re very accommodating with gluten and dairy free options, I think it was perhaps just a bad day for them!

    The food was interesting and tasty but only set menus at £48 a person available. Service was disappointing as no effort to describe what we were eating just perfunctory.
