Augie's French, a Stark Reality Restaurant by Mark & Terri Stark, offers elevated service in a comforting and enchanting atmosphere in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa. Recognized as a "Top French Restaurant" in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Chronicle and featured in Sonoma Magazine's "Best Restaurants" in Sonoma County, our menu embodies French Bistro classics. Enjoy Onion Soup Gratinée, Steak Frites, seasonal local vegetables with a French flair, and a classic Beef Bourguignon known to evoke tears of delight.
Our wine list is comprised of exclusively French selections, and the bar specializes in classic French aperitif cocktails. Happy Hour and a limited bar menu are offered daily from 3-5 pm, featuring items you won’t find on the dinner menu.

Augie's serves a variety of wonderful French dishes like quenelles, onion soup, croque madame. The service is courteous and attentive. The interior is nicely designed and furnished.

The food was good and Ariana did a wonderful job as did those assisting her. My only constructive criticism related to the wine. I placed the bottle of wine I brought on the table. I was not asked about it & after a few visits to the table requested it be opened. The services never refilled wine glasses throughout the meal. Another paid the bill, so I’m not sure the corkage of $25 was charged, but I would expect service for the fee.

Thank You for a Memorable Lunch. Food was Wonderful. The Salmon in Leek and Butter Sauce with a touch of Pernod amazing. Now I know what Julia Child Experienced when she had Fish in France for the First Time, as portrayed by Meryl Streep (As Julia Child) in "Julia."

This is maybe my tenth time in the past few years that I have visited Augie's and have been overwhelmed by how good it is. I had their artichoke special which was a large artichoke bottom in a broth. Exquisite! I shared the Coquilles St, Jacques with my husband and he loved it; said he'd order it again. We both loved their hand crafted cocktails. I managed to leave my credit card in the restaurant and they called me immediately and I retrieved it the next day. Great service.

Finally a "modern" take on classic French bistro dining is back in Santa Rosa. This place serves a number of classic French bistro faves at reasonable wine country prices. Snails, oysters on the half shell, unusual soups (our special was celeriac and fennel), duck sausage cassoulet, moules + frites, and crepes suzette. Check out the happy hour menu (3 to 5 weekdays), and the cocktails and extensive wine-list. Very attentive wait staff, though host/maitre d' could benefit by being more communicative?

Pros: -Beautiful setting. -Clean table and chairs. -Duck confit was cooked just right. Cons: -Unenthusiastic waiter. -We ordered appetizers but they were served together with the entree. Note that the restaurant wasn't that busy during that time. -Told them that we are here to celebrate a birthday and nothing came about. -All the food was loaded with too much butter and I feel gross after eating it. We ordered brussel sprout and even that was loaded with butter and cheese. Overall we felt like we overpaid for eating loads of butter and bad service.

The food was delicious. The staff were attentive. The manager was amazing and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant. We had a great birthday celebration here and look forward to returning. Kudos!
