Augie's French, a Stark Reality Restaurant by Mark & Terri Stark, offers elevated service in a comforting and enchanting atmosphere in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa. Recognized as a "Top French Restaurant" in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Chronicle and featured in Sonoma Magazine's "Best Restaurants" in Sonoma County, our menu embodies French Bistro classics. Enjoy Onion Soup Gratinée, Steak Frites, seasonal local vegetables with a French flair, and a classic Beef Bourguignon known to evoke tears of delight.
Our wine list is comprised of exclusively French selections, and the bar specializes in classic French aperitif cocktails. Happy Hour and a limited bar menu are offered daily from 3-5 pm, featuring items you won’t find on the dinner menu.

My 1st time and I wasn’t disappointed! The service was outstanding and the food was delicious! The pate tasted like I was back in France. Definitely worth it and will be worth it. I will be back.

The gnocchi were very soft and the sage and nuts gave it a crunch.

This is the second time dining at Augie’s. Fresh oysters, perfect escargots provencal, wagyu steak frites along with French 75 and epicee margarita made for a great experience. This is a gem! Servers were warm, friendly and attentive.

Fantastic! Our server was very attentive and so personable. The food was INSANE, we had the tuna tartare and the red onion tarte tatin to start and both were exquisite. For the mains we had the steak frites, duck confit, and beef cheek bourguignon, and everything was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Wonderful wine selection. We will absolutely be dining here again.

Our party of three each ordered an entree which in each case was described as delicious and perfectly prepared (two salmon orders and a black cod which was a daily special). In addition, we ordered two side-dishes to share (Brussel sprouts and mushroom with shaved truffle) and both were simple and wonderful. The service was attentive and not intrusive. One in our party was celebrating a birthday, so we ordered the Chocolate Caramel Salted Mousse to share - it was outstanding, and the restaurant delivered a dish of very lovely vanilla ice cream for our celebrant! All in all, we had an excellent evening.

We started by sampling excellent and reasonably priced French wine, prepping our palates with the half baguette at our table that seemed fresh out of the oven. We shared the frog’s legs (why not? It was either that or the escargot). Very flavorful, and yes, it does look and taste and have a similar texture to chicken. The garlicky Provençal sauce was a highlight. We shared an endive and walnut salad, topped with a slab of blue cheese. The cheese was outstanding, but otherwise the salad was not memorable. Perhaps the dressing needs to be more flavorful? For entrees my partner had mussels with fries. Wonderful. I ordered more baguette to sop up the divine butter, wine, and juices. I had the steak frites. The beef was fine but truly drowned in the brown sauce. Our fries, sorry to say, were half semi-soggy, half almost crispy. A disappointment. Overall, including the romantic ambience and just enough service, a 4 of 5 star experience. A few adjustments would make Augie’s an outstanding destination..

First time dining here, finally! The food was incredible. Everything had such unique flavors. We started with ahi tuna tartar, and for entrees had steak frites and beef cheek. Also added on the sautéed mushroom side. Michael was our server and was so attentive and polite. Everyone was working hard as a team and all very friendly. It was a great experience and highly recommend!
