Augie's French, a Stark Reality Restaurant by Mark & Terri Stark, offers elevated service in a comforting and enchanting atmosphere in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa. Recognized as a "Top French Restaurant" in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Chronicle and featured in Sonoma Magazine's "Best Restaurants" in Sonoma County, our menu embodies French Bistro classics. Enjoy Onion Soup Gratinée, Steak Frites, seasonal local vegetables with a French flair, and a classic Beef Bourguignon known to evoke tears of delight.
Our wine list is comprised of exclusively French selections, and the bar specializes in classic French aperitif cocktails. Happy Hour and a limited bar menu are offered daily from 3-5 pm, featuring items you won’t find on the dinner menu.

Find your inner Francophile on our petite, dog-friendly patio, in our lush suede booths in the main dining room, or watch from above in our intimate mezzanine. At Augie's French, you can expect the expected, prepared exceptionally well.

Great experience & food overall. All the staff were lovely. Also, appreciate the French-based wine list. Just a few opportunities to to make Augie's a 5-star experience for sure. 1. We were not offered the evening's additions to the menu. 2. It was quite noisy in the upstairs space... enough that we could hear across the table well. 3. Not sure whether this should be directed to Augie's or OpenTable: I'm my OpenTable reservation request, I specified a "standard" [downstairs] dining room seating as a member of our party has moderate mobility issues and difficulty with stairs. Instead, we were seated in the upstairs mezzanine. That was a "miss" on someone's part. These are just a few details. We'll be back!

Great dining experience, one of the best in Sonoma county. Well-developed flavors from high-quality ingredients, delivered with attention to detail.

I love this place! The food is excellent, ambiance is on point, and the value is there. I am always satisfied with the delicious food and service! Highly recommend! Drinks and desserts are fabulous too!

The noise was terrible. My food was very good but the others thought theirs was just okay. The service was slow but otherwise good

Amazing appetizers, drinks and desserts. We both ordered the mussels and fries. Both were salted to the max SHORT of not being able to eat them. Broth was salty and fries were very salty (couldn't eat the bottom half of fries that also had some of the salt of the upper fries). Otherwise, the dishes were pretty tasty, and cook level was perfect (I had 3 unopened mussels and 2 that were quite large--I cut them in half--I prefer the smaller ones). I order mussels often at restaurants and it's rare to have an unopened one on on my plate. Very attentive service. Nice upgrade of ambiance from the prior Italian restaurant that was here prior. People with hearing issues might have a problem with the noise level.

We always enjoy our dinners here & this time brought some friends with us. Everyone enjoyed everything they had: Cocktails -- French Pearl, and Flower Drop Appetizers: Garlic Escagot, and summer seasonal specials: Heirloom Tomato Salad, and Tomato Soup Sides: Brussels Sprout Gratin Mains: Beef Cheek Bourguignon, Liberty Farms Duck Confit, and Steak Frites Desserts: Profiteroles au Chocolate, and Brown Butter Caramel Mousse

Took a friend who had never been and she really enjoyed all the food and wine. Great place. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

We’ve been anted to try Augie’s for a while and finally made it. We love French football is and the preparation was authentic. The food was good but not great. Had to send steak back to get cooked past the bloody red stage despite ordering it medium. the potato purée was perfect but the fries were too salty. The wine was wonderful and desert - peach Melba was really excellent. The server let us know she was new and she was a pleasant part of our dining experience. We were very comfortable in one of the booths up front by the bar and noise level was tolerable. It was a pleasant night out.

One of our favorite restaurants in Santa Rosa, the food never disappoints. This was our third visit and plan many more in the future. Highly recommend for special occasions or any occasion when you’re in the mood to treat yourself to fine dining.
