Auden is a neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Autry Park in River Oaks. We feature a simple, seasonal menu and serve dinner six days a week and brunch on Sundays! We also have our Happy Hour Daily (from 5:00-6:30 p.m.). Auden delivers an approachable bistro experience with influences of Texas flavors, Gulf Coast Ingredients and a nod to our Indian upbringing.

Located in between Montrose and River Oaks, we look forward to dinner with you.

The cocktails were excellent. It was a nice setting. our server was friendly, but was overwhelmed with too many tables and we languished at times. The portion on the octopus was ridiculously small, plate was filled with potatoes. Food needed some more pizzazz.

The location and interior of this restaurant are great. Unfortunately the entrees were not good. We ordered the Bombay elote and milk buns for our starters and loved those. I ordered the shrimp and grits as my entree and it was pretty bad. The dish overall had no flavor. The grits were also over cooked and mushy. On the menu they were described as spiced grits but I don’t think they even had salt in them. I asked for black pepper but they didn’t even help. My husband ordered the steak frites and they were a bit over cooked and underwhelming.

The food was amazing but the service was terrible. Everything took a very long time-for someone to come to our table, then to get our cocktail and glass of wine, then to get the food. I requested a simple martini (literally gin and a twist) but it was made wrong. I told them and they didn’t offer to fix it-the server literally shrugged shoulders and walked off. We ordered an appetizer and one of us ordered a salad. The first thing that came to the table was one entree and our appetizer. (And no plates to put the appetizer on). We ended up cancelling the salad (because once the hot entree is there-why have it?). I sat there waiting for my entree and urged my spouse to eat his dish while it was hot. He was done before mine came out. None of the firing of dishes made sense. We would have ordered more drinks and dessert but at that point we just wanted to leave. It’s such a shame because the food/the flavors/the sauces were outstanding. The restaurant was prob only 60% full so that wasn’t the issue. I’d like to think it was just an off night for them but there are so many better places to go where the very basics of service are met, it wasn’t worth the expense.

Picked this place to have my wife’s birthday dinner per a friend’s advice. Our waiter was funny and attentive. Food was excellent and cocktails hit the spot. Don’t pass on this place.

Great restaurant! Unique menu that has an Indian fusion inspiration on many dishes. The staff is wonderful, and the food matches the service.

Auden is easily one of our favorite spots! The happy hour is fantastic, and the food never disappoints. We finally got to try the corn elote, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The burger was cooked to perfection, and we were thrilled to get in another round of Houston Restaurant Weeks here. Of course, we sat in Lane's section, and as always, he was top-notch with his menu suggestions. This place continues to impress—highly recommend!
