I enjoyed everything at the restaurant. The food was great and the service was excellent. The only issue was that the AC was a bit too cold, but everything else was perfect.

Fantastic experience at Atelier in Ottawa. This is a gem in Canada and easily competes with ultra fine dining (top tier Michelin) restaurants around the world. The food is a creative delight - dishes are surprising with flavors of all types and polarizing tastes that somehow work incredibly well together. The food presentation is a work of art and there are many playful and entertaining elements (I won't ruin the experience but think blind wines, interactive dishes and hidden surprises). The service is casual yet friendly and knowledgeable - each dish was explained thoroughly without hesitation or confusion. The Somm did a wonderful job presenting the wines with a short story about each producer in addition to the food pairing and flavor profile. We had 4 in our group and did the half regular pairing, half bespoke pairing and cocktail pairing. We were able to try every cocktail on the list and many different wines with both pairings. The half pairing is not fewer wines; rather just less of each wine. The cocktails were outstanding and one was perhaps the best cocktail I have ever had - with torched grapefruit as the garish! The decor is simple and minimalistic - this may not be to everyone's tastes but we enjoyed that the food presentation really stood out and we were not distracted by decor. If I had to compare this to another fine dining expeirence I have had, I would say it is similar to Alinea in Chicago because of the creativity behind the dishes. Highly recommend this experience in Ottawa - worth every penny (and well priced compared to other places)!

The experience and food; the presentation, the sessions of serving-is just amazing. Well done; just fabulous experience. Few comments to consider: I don't have the same ability to drink alcohol; I love the wine pairing but I can only take few sips-when we asked for splitting the full serving with my friend because I knew I could not finish and drink all the servings -and we indicated we wanted to divide in two, the server informed us we would have the share the same glass- that was quite disappointing. May be next time verify why one would explore such option-I took the half serving; as if I would drink from the same glass as my friend-a bit insulting-I still could not finish the last 3 glasses. As well we were charged 20-and my friend did 25% tip on the final bill which includes the tax ; for such high end restaurant-just include the tip within the pricing of your meal-this is such disappointing culture -as well tip should not include the tax-I do lots of travel and many places include the tip in the price- and I have no trouble with this-suggest to explore how high end restaurant do this. The helium ballon desert is a very fun ending-nothing compares. Thank you
