We really appreciated the care we received as we had terrible traffic and ran very late but needed to make our theatre curtain time. Food was wonderful we loved meeting the chef all very excellent. We will be back!!

This was our first visit to Asterid this season. We were going to the Opera so we had 5:30 reservations. Our hostess was so nice finding a perfect table for the 4 of us. Our waitress Malak noted the time we needed, making excellent suggestions. She surprised us with Prosecco for a toast for my husband’s birthday. The appetizers were served quickly & delicious with perfect martinis. We shared several salads & main dishes. Topped off by the delicious Budino dessert. Malak was friendly , professional, & knowledgeable. We look forward to more pre theater dinners . Thank you for the excellent service by all servers & the great team!!

Our most recent visit to Asterid confirmed all the previous concerns I have had about dining here. The restaurant has still not figured out how to manage the pre-event rush that is inherent in their location. The service is uneven. The servers could not be nicer, however they are simply overwhelmed. The delivery of the food is erratic; we never received a dish and opted to skip it because the restaurant was becoming increasing frenetic and difficult to find anyone who would meet your eye. Again to be clear, every staff member is courteous and helpful when they can give a minute of their time. I remain hopeful that Asterid will find its equilibrium. It is a great location with an interesting menu. However, if you are looking for a relaxed and carefree way to start your evening before a concert or show then I would look elsewhere.

The menu changed. We went for brunch and just all day dinner menu basically. Disappointed but food was excellent.

The restaurant was lovely and service was attentive. The chicken liver mousse was delicious and the portion was enough for two to share as a starter. The chawanmushi was delicious, but the portion was only about two spoonfuls and not worth the $29. Loved the flavorful spiced short ribs.

I have always enjoyed pre-matinee dining at Asterid, but am very disappointed that the brunch menu is gone. Only the dinner menu is available. The shrimp risotto was delicious, but should have had more than two shrimp.

Server was nearly impossible to hear as he was speaking at such a low volume I had to become a liip reader. Food was phenomenal as were the drinks. All the hype is real.

Very quiet pre-concert meal was good, although a bit odd. Apparently they are transitioning to a new drink menu and nothing was mentioned about it until we ordered specialty cocktails from the menu and were informed they no longer had them and the new menu was being worked on. not the end of the world, but not a great way to start, either. We loved most of the dishes and they were quite beautifully plated. Good wine! Service was friendly but a bit unrefined, and I gather just new. The General Manager, Juan, was really great and I know this place will be 5 stars once they have an updated menu. A great option for shows in the area, or any time you're in DTLA.
