Ashton's is a local gastropub and event space located in the heart of Clonskeagh on the banks of the River Dodder, serving great food and drinks and warm hospitality seven days a week. Split over two levels, Ashton's encompasses a large open bar and dining room, a dedicated event space on the lower ground floor, and two terraces overlooking the passing river. Ashton's Gastropub serves lunch and dinner seven days a week, with its signature Carvery available on weekdays. With a focus on seasonality and sourcing local, the menu at Ashton's includes elevated pub classics with something for everyone.

Service was good bar a 1 hour delay for our mains. Other people were seated and had two courses before ours arrived. When it did arrive, the only complaint was that the bacon was so hard it was almost inedible. The servers were polite and friendly and the food would be better value for money, if it arrived at a reasonable time and wasn’t burnt.

The service was very leisurely considering how quiet the restaurant was on a Friday evening. The lasagne was very hot and tasty but was ruined by a very thick layer of cheese and an even thicker layer of sauce. The burger was tasty. We had 2 glasses of wine but 3 were added to the bill! We have eaten much better food there not long ago.

Excellent food and service was very efficient. Staff were very friendly, pleasant and attentive. Would happily recommend Ashtons. Have celebrated numerous family occasions there are never been disappointed.

Booked Ashton's on the recommendation of neighbours as a local pub doing good carvery lunch on a Sunday. We deliberately made the booking for 45 minutes before the carvery ending and on arrival 15 minutes early, we were told that the carvery had already finished for the day. This was an hour before the actual finish time (4 pm according to the website). The pub was very quiet at the time but we were assured that it was busier early in the day hence the reason the carvery was finished. We ate from the A La Carte menu and food was okay. When you are looking forward to a carvery lunch on a Sunday, lasagna and chips was never going to make up for it. Staff were super friendly and apologetic so I will give Ashton's a second chance. The decor in the pub is beautiful.

Visited for a birthday lunch. Carvery was really good. Very generous portions and we all were very happy with our lunch. Staff very friendly and also helpful.

Food was mediocre -my fish and chips was so over cooked and the way too much batter to fish proportion. Lasagne tasted like a mass produce meal. However the poorest part of the night was the service - we had to go in search of the food menus, and chase down each drinks order - wine and Guinness for the duration of the meal. All this in a particular empty pub.

Delicious food. Nice decor. Floor staff were not efficient , had to remind twice about sides .

Booked an outdoor area for my 40th Birthday dinner with my Family. Arrived and said they aren’t opening outdoors today. Nicest day in June? No one phoned in advance to tell me this. Booked well in advance. Very disappointing. Food was nice. Place was empty. No atmosphere. Used to be a lovely spot a few years ago. Won’t be going back.
