Asador Bastian is a Chicago chophouse with Basque influences from acclaimed Chef
Doug Psaltis. Located in the iconic “Flair House” originally built in 1883, this historic

townhouse has been revived and brought back to life with culinary inspiration from the
great asadors of San Sebastián, Spain to serve the world’s best boutique beef without
compromise. The most remarkable dining experience comes from the purest ingredients
delivered in the supremely thoughtful, welcoming and hospitable manner. This ethos
has directed every aspect of the experience at Asador Bastian, whether you’re joining
us for small bites and libations in our Bar Room or for a more intimate experience in our
Dining Room.

    At Asador Bastian we are excited to offer our Chef's Table; a one of a kind experience. Our Chef's Table is located directly across from our kitchen where you will have a full view of our world class chefs at work creating the dishes that make our restaurant so unique. The Chef's Table is an experience created for 6 or 10 guests. A deposit of $150 per person is required for booking this private dining room. The deposit is applied to the final bill.     We had a wonderful evening and anniversary dinner here. We were attended to by the waiter, sommelier and bartender to tell us about the special cocktails. There were almost too many food choices as they have quite a few off the menu options. Our food was absolutely delicious. We had the beef tartar, blue fin tuna, Akaushi steak/filet and the arroz cremoso along with the artichokes. It was all wonderful and prepared perfectly. They also worked around my dairy allergy very nicely. We will definitely be going back.

    This is truly a special place! A little hard to find but worth any effort involved! Beautiful classy decor. The service was phenomenal! The food was better than that!!! Cocktails were divine! I had a French 75 made with cognac! We had a local tomato, olive and cheese appetizer. So fresh and good! My dinner companion had a delicious steak ! There are 4 different types of beef you can choose from. But the best thing was my Dover Sole Amandine! Perfection!!

His attentiveness, deep knowledge, and genuine patience made us feel like honored guests throughout the evening. This level of service extended to every member of the staff, including the General Manager, who ensured our experience was nothing short of first-class. As for the food—decadent doesn't even begin to describe it. Each dish was a masterpiece, crafted with precision that was evident in every bite. The flavors were rich and balanced, textures perfectly executed, and presentations were simply stunning. The attention to detail in each plate, from the first course to dessert, speaks to the chef's dedication to both art and craft.     Our waiter was named Joshua and he was phenomenal. He explained everything with so much precision and you could really tell he was passionate about the menu. The food spoke for itself, though— everything made our mouth water. So great!

    This was the best restaurant we have eaten at in a very Long time. We ate at a Spanish steak house in San Sebastián and this place was much better. It is quite expensive but really worth it. Highly recommend. We particularly blown away by the chocolate hazelnut desert.
