Asador Bastian is a Chicago chophouse with Basque influences from acclaimed Chef
Doug Psaltis. Located in the iconic “Flair House” originally built in 1883, this historic

townhouse has been revived and brought back to life with culinary inspiration from the
great asadors of San Sebastián, Spain to serve the world’s best boutique beef without
compromise. The most remarkable dining experience comes from the purest ingredients
delivered in the supremely thoughtful, welcoming and hospitable manner. This ethos
has directed every aspect of the experience at Asador Bastian, whether you’re joining
us for small bites and libations in our Bar Room or for a more intimate experience in our
Dining Room.

At Asador Bastian we are excited to offer our Chef's Table; a one of a kind experience. Our Chef's Table is located directly across from our kitchen where you will have a full view of our world class chefs at work creating the dishes that make our restaurant so unique. The Chef's Table is an experience created for 6 or 10 guests. A deposit of $150 per person is required for booking this private dining room. The deposit is applied to the final bill. Great appetizers, sides, and deserts with a solid cocktail offering. The entrees left a bit to be desired and at their price point I expected more. Would go back to give it another shot but wouldn't be my first choice for an elevated dining experience.

We were there for our anniversary. We ordered a $180 bottle of wine. We got our salad and appetizer and then they didn’t come back for over an hour. We finally got our steak and side but just ruined the whole night. They gave us a glass of wine each and 1 dessert as an apology. No where close to what we spent.

Outstanding food and service. If you go as a couple the two-top tables are very close together. You cant help but be a part of your neighbors experience, and they of yours.

We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. We asked to be moved from our table because we were next to a group who we think was there for work and their table seating arrangement was with everyone facing us. They were very loud and we didn't want to hear about spreadsheets so after the manager allowed it, we were moved to another table. It was only slightly better. But our server was very nice and answered a lot of our questions. The food was delicious - especially the tortilla and scarlet shrimp but the sole and steak were just mediocre and it wasn't worth the bill which was about $275 per person - we only had two drinks each and no dessert.

We had an incredible dining experience at the steakhouse while celebrating a birthday. The atmosphere was perfect, and the food was exceptional. What truly set the evening apart was our server, Yousif. His breadth of knowledge about the menu was impressive, and his hospitality was top-notch. Yousif’s attention to detail and warm demeanor made our celebration even more special. We highly recommend for any occasion and hope to be served by Yousif again in the future.

I know no one has ever said this before (sarcasm), but this is simply the best steak I have ever had. We had the Galiciana, and two of us like it medium rare, one of us like steak rare; no problem, it was prepared so about one- third of it was rare, the rest medium rare. I had been concerned about ordering too many appetizers, as I didn't want to spoil my appetite for the steak, but not too worry; the appetizers are not so large as to be overwhelming, but they were delicious, as were our desserts, Service is outstanding, shout-out to our server Christian. The only slight downside was that the music was a tad too loud for our (early) dinner, but we didn't notice it as the place filled up. On the pricey side? Yes, but so worth it. Next time, I'm trying the seafood; that looked amazing, too!
