We will dine on our pergola, savoring the late summer cooler nights, while taking in the scenery of our building & garden. Seating is communal at multiple tables. Beverages are supplemental. I love the ambiance of the garden at the place, I only wish the food matched. We meet friends here for lunch every couple of months and we all keep hoping the food will get better. But it hasn’t. Yesterday, a lobster roll with very little lobster in it and what was there was tough. A chicken paillard that had been pounded thin (good) and then literally cooked to shoe leather consistency (not good). Two of us had salads which were fine - they were salads… The service was fine and the garden is lovely. Very disappointing.

We spent our 32nd anniversary at The Artisan and thoroughly enjoyed our night out in Hartford as a result! My husband had the Lobster Fra Diavolo and I ordered the Scottish Salmon A La Plancha. The salmon paired wonderfully with the lemon caper risotto and the raisin chutney provided a delicious balance. Both dishes were delivered with simplicity and sophistication, and delighted our palates! We were both completely satisfied with our dinners. Add the ambience of the beautiful outdoor seating, and top off a wonderful evening with the genuine and pleasant hospitality afforded to us by our server Will and his colleague Amy! This will definitely be a favorite stop when we are in Hartford again!!

It’s lovely outdoor garden setting and the inside dining room is very nice but it was a beautiful night and everyone wants to be outside. Our waiter was really sweet, enthusiastic and attentive. The food was very good, not outstanding but I would definitely go back.

Service was slow. There seemed to be a shortage of wait staff . We were also in the garden area, so perhaps that was a factor . Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive when she was at our table . When we tried to get the attention of the gentleman for water, he was very unfriendly.

Every aspect of the day was 5star. Madison our server made it the perfect dining experience. Dining under the pergola overlooking the beautiful gardens was romantic and peaceful. It’s one of our favorite dining spots Thank you!
