Artisan Waterfront Restaurant & Tavern offers a unique and innovative dining experience with magnificent views of Lake Michigan. Our Great Lakes-inspired, New American cuisine has an emphasis on farm-fresh fare from local and regional farms, celebrating the theme of craftsmanship and sustainability.
With booking a table in Artisan please advise your table will be reserved for 2 hours starting at the time of your reservation.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUTSIDE TABLES ARE RESERVED UPON REQUEST BUT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.
If you have requested a table outdoors, please be advised that in the case of inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate your party inside at the same reservation time, however we cannot guarantee a table inside at the same exact time and may need to adjust the reservation time accordingly.

Nice location on the water, lovely room and patio. Service was excellent and fun with good wine knowledge. Food was good, well executed but not spectacular and prices are high. A nice option for a higher end place, but not as good as other places we visited while in TC. Creativity and menu options could use a boost.

Our server, Joanne, was attentive and knowledgeable. Limited menu choices on all counts - wine, appetizer and entree. We made reservations for outside dining 3-4 months in advance but the hostess had moderate difficulty locating the table for us. We have dined several times at two Artisans in CT and in Traverse City. We plan to return during our stay in northern Michigan.

Pretty atmosphere! Our server was very sweet! Food was super underwhelming for the price!! The filet and the sea bass were under seasoned and bland. Wished we had eaten somewhere else.

We were so pleasantly surprised by Artisian! From the second we walked in the door, the hostess was extremely friendly and happy to accommodate us even though we ran a few mins late with traffic. Melissa was our server and pointed us in the right direction on what to order from the menu - nothing disappointed - we had the heirloom salad, bread, salmon, pasta with scallops added and delicious drinks! We highly recommend Artisan and will be back without question. Thanks for a great evening out!

The food was okay. The heirloom tomato salad was vey good, best part of the meal. The food is over priced for the quality. My in-laws like the place so we went with them.

Unfortunately, our food is served quite late due to a large party and another room, but our server was great. Her food was great.

The atmosphere is nice. Sitting on the patio you get a nice water view. The presentation of the food was good, but the taste was just OK. I get the feeling this restaurant is more about the view than the food.

I loved my dinner here! Most of the produce is locally sourced, and it looks like they pay attention to sourcing responsibly raised meat and seafood. The service was really on point--it reminded me like something out of "The Bear." My only complaint is that the chairs in the dining room that have kind of a webbed/wicker backing are a bit uncomfortable and a bit low for the table, but that would definitely not stop me from returning!
