Artisan Waterfront Restaurant & Tavern offers a unique and innovative dining experience with magnificent views of Lake Michigan. Our Great Lakes-inspired, New American cuisine has an emphasis on farm-fresh fare from local and regional farms, celebrating the theme of craftsmanship and sustainability.
With booking a table in Artisan please advise your table will be reserved for 2 hours starting at the time of your reservation.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUTSIDE TABLES ARE RESERVED UPON REQUEST BUT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.
If you have requested a table outdoors, please be advised that in the case of inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate your party inside at the same reservation time, however we cannot guarantee a table inside at the same exact time and may need to adjust the reservation time accordingly.

We ate inside and honestly the chairs were very uncomfortable. It was distracting from the experience.

Easily one of the best high-end meals we've ever had! We sat on the patio and our server Melissa was amazing. Will definitely return and recommend to friends!

We had a family brunch here. Perfect location. Outdoor seating is prime. Plenty of parking and food was very good. Would highly recommend!

We lived our seafood chowder soup, scallops, & salmon were all delicious. Restaurant was super busy, so food service was super slow. Desserts were an added treat. Views on the water are spectacular. Went to outside patio bar for drinks before& views:)

Chef and service was amazing! We enjoyed ourselves and the wife said she’d travel to Traverse City just to have dinner again at Artisan!

Very nice ambience the manager was awesome sat me and my family in a private room for a birthday celebration wonderful staff.

Some items were good, such as my entree (filet mignon) and my wife's entree (walleye). The desserts were good. But the acoustics were poor, very difficult to hear. And the staff was made to be relentlessly upbeat about some disappointing fare, which made things seem pretentious. For example, they took great pride in two tiny crouton-sized cubes of herbed bread that they brought as a chef's special offer. The chowder was thin and consisted mostly of slices of potato, little seafood. And the potato side dish was little more than a potato cut into a cube shape, sliced, and then browned again on the outside, extraordinary effort to produce something that just tasted like a potato. Overall, then, instead of being impressed by the flavors of the food, we were mostly bemused by the presentation.

Giovanni was an excellent waiter - really kind and knowledgeable + down to earth. The food was quite interesting, very delicious and fresh for sure with a unique flavor profile. Really enjoyed it overall for our first time here.
