A l'ouest de Strawberry Fields, l'Arte Café est situé dans l'incontournable quartier de Brownstone dans l'Upper West Side depuis 22 ans. Il dispose d'un grand jardin extérieur avec une fontaine d'eau ou d'une salle à manger principale avec des sièges près de la cheminée lorsqu'il fait froid le soir. Il se trouve à quelques pas de Central Park et propose une cuisine pan-italienne haut de gamme avec des pâtes artisanales faites maison, des viandes et des poissons frais, des pizzas cuites au four en brique et des desserts somptueux. Des salles privées sont disponibles pour tous les événements et les budgets. La "Roman Holiday Room" est disponible pour votre prochain évènement. Great neighborhood joint. Loved the atmosphere in the bar and met some nice people there. We also enjoyed the chicken parm, chicken piccata and the meatballs. Caesar salad decent, not outstanding.

Food was good (we both had ribeye steaks on Valentine’s Day special menu) but service incredibly slow. Almost 45 minutes for desert that wasn’t even hot. But bill was slapped down on table as soon as we finally got dessert. Complimentary truffle box advertised in online menu never appeared. Server said she didn’t know anything about it.

I’ve generally truly enjoyed the restaurant, the ambiance, the food, and the staff/ service. This time… Food took 90 minutes. Back room is super noisy and loud.

Sadly disappointing dinner. The waiter was chewing gum and rushed us through dinner. A starter of caprese was good, but before we could finish it, the waiter and another staff member moved in suddenly and put our main dishes onto the already crowded table. When we protested that we were not yet finished with the caprese, the waiter said “yes” and walked away, leaving us with all the food and plates. Both mains—short ribs and lamb shank—were unevenly heated: warm potatoes and cold meat. Why were they rushed out from the kitchen? Why put main couses on the table before diners have finished their starters? Why chew (smelly) gum when waiting on tables? And finally, why serve soggy (badly defrosted) profiteroles for dessert? We had not eaten at this neighborhood place for a few years. And we won’t ever return.

Went for an intimate lunch where it was a quiet atmosphere, great value for the prix fixe lunch menu, and really good food. Would highly recommend.

Great neighborhood (and beyond spot) to meet friends, have a nice dinner or just some casual bar fun. Great tv's to watch. Good food and nice people. A bit pricey but good portion size make it a fair play.

Our last 2 visits and one takeout have been very mediocre. Not bad but not great either. Lasagna was pretty tasteless and linguini pesto was a wad of pasta with no herbs. Very “mid” to use the term of the times.
